super6
Are the rear wheels/tyres the same size to both tractors? 15/16.9-34's or bigger?

Both 16.9/34 Paul, the ones on the 465 originally lived on the donor 804 that Martin and Iain used to build their 384-4, though I think the 465 will end up on 36s like it would have had originally, but at present it's fairly quick on the road as the current 34s have the same rolling radius as a pair of 13.6/38s so she fairly tame until you get into 5th and then she's a flier,
Valley Axe Man
Beauty and the Beast at Fylde Vintage and Farm Show yesterday. Gemma took the 804 and I tagged on with the 465, although I needed the waterproofs on on way there it turned out to be a great day, back on the show field. Neck end of a 50 mile round trip so both tractors got a good stretch of their legs..... Seemed strange at first having some one else driving my 804 but being on the 465, hearing that whistling turbo from her, it's pure music 👌 Edited July 4, 2021 by Valley Axe Man

Valley Axe Man
Was local tractor run yesterday, so Gemma had her first adventure on a tractor run on her 804, I took the trusty 465, both tractors did well, 42 miles give or take and helped raise £540 to the blood bikers. Couple of little problems but nowt that can't be sorted......... Was a good day and good to see Matt with my old 802 out alongside John (JMD's) 8340 🙂

It did look the part Justin, had a good gloss shine to the paintwork and sounded well, was behind it in the afternoon leg of the run after the pie and peas stop.

Valley Axe Man
Been a busy couple of days of late up at the yard after last Sunday's road run, noticed a bit of slip in the clutch of the 804 but further investigation found a leaky slave cylinder, so a trip to the spiritual home of Nuffield, Leyland and Marshall tractors got me a new slave and a fresh Flexi hose as they have a habit of degrading in the bore restricting the fluid flow on the return stroke, common on the brake circuit as the brakes come on as normal but then are very slow to release, anyhow cylinder and pipe fit and bled up, and had landlords 5 ton Marshall trailer hitched up and a couple of bucket full of crushed concrete tipped in with his load all and away for a road test, seems to have improved the clutch somewhat, still not 100 percent happy with it but a lot better than it was... A bit of input off John (JMD) eldest son Matt but maybe we'll investigate it abit further . Then yesterday I had the 46& out on shunting duty, as the collection has shrunk in size after a couple of messages and a phone call or two another fellow Nuffield Leyland fan came to view the 345, he knew of the cracked block but said he's sourced an engine so after a brew a couple of biscuits and a bit of tyre kicking a deal was done on the old girl, and with a fist full of cash and a push from the 465 she set off on her way back up to County Durham to join a collection of an 802, 804, 285, 282, 465 and a 502.......... Cheers to you and Matt for coming along, it's appreciated 👌I think the biggest regret was not recording the exhausts on that back road to Downham just past the walkers in the hedge, when there was the whistle of a pair of 498t and your 6 pot echoing behind me under the canopy of tree cover. .. sounded well 👍 think at that point he'd have still have been trying to get past the walkers in his Fastrac 🤣
Valley Axe Man
Was local young farmers Christmas tractor run on Sunday night, just a short circular route around the Ribble Valley through the villages to spread a bit of Christmas cheer, so Gemma and I took the 804 and 465 respectively and spent a few hours putting a few fairy lights on them, 1200 on the 804 and 1100 on the 465, plus a few reindeer and inflatable Santa.... Anyhow not many classics turned up, mostly big John Deere, but got a photo of us at the sign in point... Was a good night until a ***** of a spectator launched a bucket of water over me on the way back into town.... hopefully the 130 plus tractors will have raised a bit of good for the Field Nurses Charity as at the last run in 2019 they made a great £7000 for the Air Ambulance

jmd
Should of stopped and snotted the spectator Paul ,you'll have to have a tanker on the back next year to get your own back👍

Valley Axe Man
Little update from the Young Farmers, this year's tractor run has raised just shy of £8000 and hopefully by the New Year will have passed the £8k mark... A great amount that will do a bit of good 🙂
