MJB1
nothing today but last sat after a meal out with friends at 1145pm i was stopped by the police for driving too slowly ok the embaressment at that is bad enough , but when asked if i'd been drinking i replied i'd only had 3 pints of coke, ( i dont drink when driving , i very rarely drink when i'm not driving ) he then took my licence back to his car for a check within 5 mins he gave me my licence back & wished me a safe journey home . what i'm annoyed about is that i didn't get a breath test ! surely thats the first thing they'd insist on isn't it ? i wonder how many idiots are driving around two sheets to the wind & getting away with it ! robbo
what i'm annoyed about is that i didn't get a breath test ! surely thats the first thing they'd insist on isn't it ? i wonder how many idiots are driving around two sheets to the wind & getting away with it ! In order to request a breath test they would have to suspect that you had alcohol in your body, had committed a moving traffic offence or had been involved in an accident. You hadn't committed and offence, driving too slowly is not an offence in itself although it could be classed as driving without reasonable consideration for other road users, and you hadn't been involved in an accident. That just leaves suspicion that you had alcohol in your body, if they can't smell it on your breath and they believed you when you said that you hadn't had a drink, there is no power to demand a breath test. So, don't get annoyed, they must have believed what you said.............obviously don't know you do they ;D ;D ;D only joking ;)

Gav836
Some dishwashers have a filter on the inlet pipe Sean, may be worth checking the handbook to see if thats the case
Tractorman810
done all of that, no joy, pumps going, just no water getting into the spinner arms ect, not even trying to pull it through, ,the inlet filters deff clear, took that out first, then did all the internal filters after that, only thing i can think is a blockage somewhere inbetween , if not new one, cost 150 quid in the sale 5 years ago, so not done bad really

Tractorman810
some tourist c0ck in a camper van, deciding to pull out on a main road today when i am only 20 m away doing about 50mph, resulting in me having to break hard and swerve resulting in my van up the verge and the bumper now missing, along with some underside damage :D :D :D ,ar$e didnt stop, but fortunatly a guy waiting for the school bus and his kiddy on it on the opp corner saw what happened and got his number and after 20 mins waiting for the poilce to arrive, they anounced they got them 10 miles away going through callington, while they were on the way to me strangely enough, and he was escorted back to the scene by another car, and all details exchanged, .his sorry was, "well i didnt see you " despite it being a very clear jcn, and my van being very large and white he apparently didnt even see my lights go on or hear my horn either??? must have been 65, and was in a rented van, down from the midlands somewhere, near stafford way, now got a mountain of paper work to do, and despite it not being my fault i now have to do 3 bt driving courses, as thats company policy, never had a accident in 20 years of driving them either

Leakeyvale
... fortunately a guy waiting for the school bus and his kiddy on it on the opp corner saw what happened and got his number and after 20 mins waiting for the poilce to arrive, they anounced they got them 10 miles away going through callington,... Thank goodness he was there, Sean, and what is more was prepared to be a witness. I had an accident once in London, in the rush-hour, when a 25-tonner turned the wrong way on a one-way system and drove straight into my car. There were dozens of people around but the reply was "I didn't see anything". There was this lorry, facing the wrong way with the front bumper buried in the offside quarter of my car! I did have a stroke of luck - a motorcycle traffic cop DID see what happened and took charge of the situation once he was able to cross the road. I think the company is being a bit "jobsworth" but I suppose rules are rules.

Tractorman810
it is sad sue, bt's problem to be honest is everythings your fault, no matter what has really happened, the whole companys becoming a blame culture place, and its never anyones elses fault > > > .just spent most of the morn doing paper work and swapping kit to a spare van, but thats onlydown to the guy being on hoilday this week, so swapping again tuesday to another van ,mines gone for about 2 weeks apparently
Leakeyvale
We are turning have turned into a "sue-em" society. There are no such things as accidents any more and it must always be someone's fault. All those adverts for compensation claiming services when it is not compensation at all but DAMAGES. Compensation is supposed to redress the balance while Damages is a punitive amount enabling someone to never work again and certain solicitors to make a good living! I am a cynic of the first order.
