I'm sure the Ford men on here will know exactly, but I think it looks like a 7600 as well Alastair, not a tractor you see a lot of really, I suppose a lot will be living in sunnier shores now. A nice old outfit, until fairly recently we used to do all the bales with a 44 just like that one, she was a good old baler but the bales were nothing like as dense as a belt baler......happy memories:D

If I remember rightly that was the baler was new that year. I think it must have been around 1987. It was a hive of activity. The one below might float your boat john!?

Brilliant photos, it's probably a 7600, it could be a 6600 with the pre cleaner bowl off a 76, but the decal looks more like a 7 possibly. They are rare alright, produced from '75 for less than a year.

I should have made it clear they were only produced with the rattle cab for that time, if I remember right it was a temporary measure till the bubble cabs were introduced. The moffett is another rare machine, was it a ford or massey based one?

Oh yes Alastair, .........I like the mod to the exhaust, I always thought it was strange how they fitted a low profile cab but the exhaust was six or eight inches higher than the cab roof.....sort of defeated the object to me!

Oh I hadn’t realised it had been! I have another pic of it somewhere. Don’t think it was that old when photo taken

Marketed in the UK for less than a year, but produced and marketed elsewhere until the FIECO cab was replaced with the Fritzmieir cab.

I would think that I started to see Fritz cabs from about 77.

Fritzemeier cabs go back to the 6Y Fords SPN.. The yearly Fritz cabs had the white pillar between the door & rear side window. The latter versions had no white pillar & went up to the 10 Series Gen 1s. I think the white pillar versions stopped around 78..  Most Fords with Fritz cabs were Antwerp assembled . Plenty came to our shores as you well know. Very little to the UK due to noise regulations . Some were open at the rear or had roll up canvas screens ..others had rear glass and the cab interiors were insulated .

Early type on a 4000.

Foto van een Ford 4000, bezig met posseren, cabine te koop, fritsmeyer punt gaaf. Geplaatst door ford turbo power op 30-08-2014 om 17:35:52, met 9 reacties.

Late type on a 4600 & also a 7610.
