robbo
Those of you who get the Classic Tractor magazine may have seen a short article on the news pages about a SAME Buffalo V6 by David Laley. I thought that now that it is out in the open I would post a few more bits and bobs about this splendid tractor. The visit to see it was done in November when we went over to the Zwolle show in Holland and had a bit of a detour on the way as we were invited by the owner, Kevin Paters to see his collection, not only does he have this Buffalo but he also has a restored Centauro so he is a true SAME fan. (I just wish I had the room and money to have a collection like him). The Buffalo is one of only 8 ever made and so far, only 3 are known still to exist, this one is the most original as the other two, one in Italy and one in Switzerland, have been modified over the years. This tractor was also used by Minitrac as the base for their Buffalo V6 model last year so it has also been immortalised in 1/32 scale. First up, David perched aboard the beast
robbo
Some more views of the tractor (and of Sean looking envious)
robbo
In the background of that last photo you can also see the Centauro 65 In the corner behind the Centauro you may also be able to make out an immaculate DB885
robbo
As previously mentioned, Minitrac did a model version of the Buffalo V6
robbo
Now, if somebody could just find me a SAME Dinosaur then that would just be fine and dandy so if you are ever going to South America then please keep a lookout. (I know that there is a mock up of a Dinosaur doing the rounds but it is not a real one unfortunately). The Buffalo is currently undergoing a bit of a service and repair but Kevin plans to leave it in its working clothes and not respray it, once that is complete then there will be a much more comprehensive write up in CT next year. This may be a hard find - Minitrac only made 30 of them, in 2017, in two different colours. http://minitrac.nl/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3:same-dinosaur&catid=8&Itemid=

If you bought the pair then you also got a stand alone engine showing the detailing.
