CX820Joe Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 I am hopeful Claas might commemorate 25 years of Lexion combines with a decent model of the first 480. I'm not sure whether its possible to contact Claas and suggest it, and whether it would be a bit late for next year now?
FendtFarmer Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 I think with universal hobbies doing the jaguar forager from that era it’s more possible then before....
bluegreen Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 I remember visiting Oliver Walstons farm in 1996 to see his 480 pre production Lexion start its 2nd season, it had had an engine power increase from 375hp to over 400 and the Driver was drooling about its performance! He was averaging over 40 tonnes an hour incl. field moves which was way ahead of the NH TF78 competition. That NH competition now has 6 rotaries and three straw walkers which could all out perform the 480 which shows how far technology has moved on since its ground breaking arrival. It was an impressive beastie too watch at the time but I didn't like the look of it at all, I preferred the Commander 228 it replaced and still do.
