Janval Posted October 30, 2020 Posted October 30, 2020 I've been offered to buy some newer Britains heritage Fords: 4000, 5000, 7000 and 7600. Didn't realize there was a Ford 4000 released among these, anyone able to confirm if there was? Reckon it'll be a one off chance to get a hold of a few of these untouched for a reasonable price, for conversion ofc. Also had the yellow version.
844john Posted October 30, 2020 Posted October 30, 2020 I'm sure others will correct me if I'm wrong Jan, but to my knowledge there's never been a 4000 released. They sound like a worth while buy though
Tractorman810 Posted October 30, 2020 Posted October 30, 2020 britains didn't release a ford 5000 in the heritage ,so its likely a conversion, there were a few around on ebay when they came out, just decal swaps
Janval Posted October 30, 2020 Author Posted October 30, 2020 This is the lot of Fords he's got. Speaking of rebadging, that top photo does look a bit wrong with the decal going a bit too much towards the front, never seen the real model so perhaps I'm wrong here. I'm at least going to get the 7xxx's for sure as he's asking around £42 each which isn't that bad in todays market
Janval Posted October 30, 2020 Author Posted October 30, 2020 A bit off topic but I can also get this for £38 which seems like a steal. Although it's missing a piece on the rear end to attach the equipment properly. Not too sure about this one as I would only actually be after the measurements of the log crane.
jmd Posted October 30, 2020 Posted October 30, 2020 The 4000 is a conversion the top one the 7000 is original they did them with a lighter blue decal also

ford/nh fan Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 The 4000 is a conversion all the rest are genuine Britains , The first batch of 5000's the cab and wings were at the wrong angle which spolit the look of them sadly the farm toy forum 6600 was the tha same .
Janval Posted October 31, 2020 Author Posted October 31, 2020 Decided to go for only the 7600 and the Valtra logging tractor this time around. Didn't quite like the 7000 enough.
ford/nh fan Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 The 7000 was the the first version as they got the decals slightly wrong so might be less of those around .
justy 46 Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 The first 7600 and FTF 6600 also had the wrong style exhaust and it was possitioned in the wrong place. The Q cab models were far better and had steerable front axle.
Janval Posted November 29, 2020 Author Posted November 29, 2020 Anyone got any clues bout how I remove the bonnet from a 7600? I'm doing a headlight replacement, but it seems to be fitted awfully tight..
mb86 Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 The Q cab or the fieco one Jan Eric? The die cast bonnet on the fieco cabbed ones need brute force, they are glued onto pins attached to the top of the engine and slots at the front tombstone. If you can wait I have one already taken off a model, I’ll take a pic. Sometimes the pins will snap off but it is the only way.

I was thinking this could be a quick job, but seems paint chips are heading my way then Kind of suspected it though. As the floorpan also seems to be glued on. Edit: messed up the positioning of the picture somehow, on mobile..
Tractorman810 Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 the floor pans not glued on, its held by screws ,remove the rear wheels and you will see them, comes apart in two parts then as for the bonnet, pop the front grill out first with a fine screwdriver ,well thats what i did , then lever it up from the front, you usually break at least one of the lugs its pressed onto, sometimes both, really depends on how well they pushed it down. you can leave the grill on, just needs a bit more care so you dont damage the plastic

Don't really need them to come off tho, only want to add some stuff inside there as well as drilling out the headlights which unfortunately is hidden behind the weight.
