CX820Joe Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Apparently you can order up until 30 November, but after that Claas will no longer deliver to UK due to Brexit. Worrying if the other EU based online shops follow suit maybe? Or is it temporary until a clear plan is known? Sorry - not wanting to bring any politics to the group

Sorry - not wanting to bring any politics to the group It could be a short term thing - assuming we get a deal..... However, it shouldnt stop folks buying through the U.K. dealerships.
SPN Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 The big problem for the first few months of 2021 will be the delays. The amount of paperwork that will have to be generated is phenomenal, so that will create backlogs. They did a trial of a passport check in Kent last week and within hours the Motorway was backed up because all the quick checks had an impact. When you get to paperwork that is going to take 30 mins to 2 hours to check, the lorry parks will be full for weeks. And that's just for trucks with a full load of one product. Trucks hauling mixed loads, such as Courier companies, will have to process paperwork for each individual parcel.

Regards Joe.
phil phoenix Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Not to mention further Covid issues which have had a big impact on model releases this year................and sadly looking at the history of Pandemics its the third wave which causes the most damage and this one appears to prefer colder weather On a brighter note it means making the best of what we already have and maybe more model conversions will be undertaken next year.

There won't be very many EU trucks heading into the UK in 2021. It won't be worth the hassle and delays. It's a huge problem for high value fresh food and seafood companies here in Ireland. The fastest way for them to get their produce onto restaurant tables in Europe is a mad dash across England and a ferry into Holland. From January 2nd they are going to come down the East coast to Rosslare and go by sea to Dunkirk, which slows the process and increases the cost. A truck and driver sitting at a frontier post for days waiting for paperwork to be processed still has to be paid for.
phil phoenix Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 Well im buying a few models and parts in now for 2021 because I really think things will be much worse in the first half of next year. I can see all kinds of problems effecting supply chains. And dont forget the UK government will be looking to get half the country vaccinated by May and that will require a great deal of logistics and movement from the nations various road courier services! Your model may be stuck in a warehouse for weeks awaiting despatch due to Vaccine supply priority issues. Food for thought, get your orders done before Vaccines get launched I say.

I am thinking the same Phil, plough, cattle feeder wagon, mower, and muck spreader and should be ok for a bit then!
