Popular Post MDFord
Something I’ve been meaning to go for a while, as I doubt I’ll ever own a real Britain’s industrial 5000 as they’re as rare as rocking horse s**t. I have several blue versions, so I used one that was all there, but had poor paintwork. Paint stripped off the castings in acetone, all components removed and cleaned, then sprayed in the closest yellow I could find to correct - I think it’s slightly too dark, nevermind. Seat, lift arms and bonnet vents in Ford tractor grey. The original back wheels are very good, without showing much sign of wheel melt so I’ll refit them. The paint is having a day or two to harden off before I continue.

Popular Post MDFord
All put back together, and looking nice. Luckily the original grille sticker came off easily so I could re use it. The pattern one isn’t as shiny.

My original example with yellow plastic cab, implement lift is from a Fordson Major. These cabs are slightly taller than those found on the Major

I popped into Halfords this morning and got something much the same and primer.. Its very hard to match an original after 50+ years off discolouration I'd say on ether a 5000 or Major. But its worth a shot anyway.
