Deere-est
I was feeling dog rough after not so much quantity but a bad mixture of drinks last night. Just finished karting which shook it up a bit. Add a CapriSun and I'm back to being human again! Ready for the next onslaught now!
Lord Ferguson
UPDATE.... had the call... going to have a crack at 12.30 today... grain is dry enough.. straw is wet still but should be dry enough by then we hope. The going on the field is not good however.... we're going to start with half loads evidently SECOND UPDATE.. Disaster... got in the field at 1.00pm and the heavens opened again... went home after one half (where I am now).. the law of sod says it's been dry and windy all afternoon... just had a call that we are going back in at 5pm

Lord Ferguson
well... had a good 7.5 hours carting last night.... finished at 12.30pm... home for 1.00am... back again at 9.45am for another day of fun fun fun It's still a bit sticky under foot (well... tyre)... so I suspect we'll still be on half loads. As we were taking half loads each time we worked on the principal of 'make it count' so we left it until the grain tank bulged and looked like it was going to spill over the top.... I managed to get the heaviest load of the evening at 10.10t .. that's one FULL tank from the Lexion :of
The Tractor Twitcher
Well i'm partially recovering and smelling a whole lot nicer than a couple of hours ago after another stupendously brilliant August bank holiday weekend spent in the company of much beer, music and best mates at Leeds Festival. Shattered I am but still high on good memories after sifting through all the photographs and video footage I took and rather amused to discover we had much better weather than Reading, i've even come home sun burnt! A few snaps from the last five days: It's no Kane, Easterby or Stewart but this little cart along with a sack barrow made life much easier. Following the trail back to camp after another fantastic day. Get Cape Wear Cape Fly who performed a cracking little set on one of the smaller stages on Thursday. Ash who headlined the Festival Republic Tent on Friday. Biffy Clyro performing on Sunday afternoon. ....and finally the only shot I took before my camera battery died of Guns 'N' Roses Sunday Night main stage headlining set. Amazing visual spectacle with pyrotechnics and flame throwers galore, but Axl Rose is/was a complete tool.
Deere-est
That Biffy photo is very very atmospheric, David. Send that in to some music press mags or something, it's a great shot.
powerrabbit
Went to Honiton Hill rally today. Caught up with some mates I haven't seen for 12 months had a good look around, loads of jumk, expensive food and drink, some nice tractors and machinery both static and working. Spent most of the afternoon walking alongside and observing my eldest Nephew cutting wheat with a 1964 Claas combine, don't know the model, all the decals had long evaporated. 6 combines cutting 3 acres, the Claas, MF30, MF755, MF780 and a bigger one. Last one was a 1967 New Holland Clayson.

Thanks Tris, it's one of the more in focus photographs I took over the weekend, not the easiest of environments to take good pictures in (especially after a beer or three. ) I'll be honest it was a complete fluke, I was almost at full stretch when I took that and was just hoping Simon Neil would at least be somewhere close to the centre of the shot. robl12
Today not much really sat around waiting for the garage to come and pick up our car after some clever person decided to pull out a junction in front of my wife at least not our fault but still some drivers

Deere-est
Escorted the Lexion back to Frome with the TM150 on the header and then went raking hay until tea time. That's it with the contracting for the main stint. May be some odd days here and here until maize starts but for the next couple or three weeks I'll be helping out on a friends beef farm while his other helper is away. Feeding, bedding, hedgetrimming, muck spreading and anything else which needs doing :)

bigbear
Today: I have already loaded the car with tons of p.a. equipment in readiness for tonight's gig and posted off a sackful of ebay sales. Now I intend on an afternoon spending my hard earned dosh on tractors, online! TOMORROW! The band are playing at the Bridwell Country Show in Uffculme, near Tiverton, Devon. We're on 1200-1300 if anybody's passing. Pop in and say "Hi!". I'll be the big, balsing bloke on the guitar! There will be a classic car and tractor display too, so it will be worth it after all... (Don't mix us up with the very enjoyable "George Formby Appreciation Society", who are on before us!).

Collected 10t of sharp (sand) from the local quarry... delivered it to my local golf club... cleared about 14t of well rotted horse poo and delivered it to my local allotment society... loaded up a couple of trucks with topsoil from my heap in the yard... now at home relaxing before I start some magazine stuff I have to do tonight
