smithy
I have been hand-digging again today ,to uncover a electric cable thats been in the ground a few years know ,it has been running up the outside of the barn but because i already have a hole basically right next to it i have exposed it and taken the duct of it as tomorrow when my electrician turns up we are going to disconnect it slide it in a new bit of duct to join up with old bit and poke it into hole and up and under barn floor and reconnect up , we have UK POWER coming on friday to put under ground my over-head 3 phase cables though same hole in barn floor .

smithy
UK Power was here on Friday and took down the over head cables that crossed the yard over to the barn and put a new cable under ground in the duct that i had put in ,they also put a new cable across the main road onto my pole in the yard to take the feed off , just need it to dry up a bit so i can get rid of some of the mud
Tractorman810
been finishing of a new stand i have made for our new outdoors pizza oven, hasnt cost me a penny as its made from two pallets i got from work( brand new ones) and some off cuts i found in the wood skip ,fitted with some wheels sourced from a old fibre cable drum.just needs staining up to give it some protection. once out of the shed i got on with a couple of bits i keep meaning to finish, have a plan to get stuff to paint stage when the weathers better ,so i can clear some shelf space

smithy
As my yard was very muddy though digging some off it up to burry electric cables ,on Saturday i got my old Strimech brush out from the around the back not used it for a few years ,when i first got it it had a linkage to slide your pallet tines in as i did not have anything with tines at the time i took that bit off and put a headstock of a lely powerharrow on so it could go on 3 point linkage i also put some wheels on the back frame thats on it but as they had perished tires on saterday i took them off ,it did a reasonable job as my yard is not that level allow its made a mess on the back of the tractor . once this snow has gone and dried up a bit i will run over it again

844john
The snow and cold weather certainly brings out hungry animals Smithy, the deer in the wood next to us have been coming across no doubt looking for something to nibble, and yesterday afternoon we stood watching the barn owl hunt, at one point he was just yards from us but seemed more intent on finding something to eat than worry about us being there. I seem to have spent most of the day either getting stuck in the snow whilst trying to feed up or digging out our road, the wind has really picked up and everywhere is drifting now. 6

Your right about the animals ,i walked across one snow covered field and the amount of different animal foot prints going in every direction was unbelievable, we have a barn owl fly along a water-course at the back of ours as it has grass margins both sides to hunt along allow it must be tough for them at the moment . You defiantly have more snow to deal with than i do and as from today down here it should turn milder allow just seen the forecast and it looks like you may be getting freezing rain come over
844john
Yes, it's good for spotting what's around...like the fox tracks next to the wife's hen hut! It's still howling around up here, this was taken earlier on when i went to feed some sheep that are about 8 miles from home. The tractor on the plough was a T7.315 New Holland, so he shouldn't have been short of poke!

smithy
What a difference a week makes ,last week in the snow i was out in the tractor and what few cars was about was waving to me as we was going around pulling vehicles out also tooting there horns as a thank you today i have been cutting a hedge on the side of the road that would start to overhang the road if left ,the blasts on the horns today was not a thank you it was a get out of my way blast together with a lot of hand movements which i am sure was not a wave them same people will be ringing up the local radio station bit later on in the year and complaining that the farmers dont cut the hedges back . 4 1

Popular Post Anderson Agri
Little trip out this weekend down to Devon, to bring back a friends 7610, parked up 15 years ago with suspected water getting in oil and lost drive from input shaft failure, still a non runner and no steering but managed to get it out and loaded up and brought 100 miles back to Somerset, looks a totally different tractor after a wash! Major project but going to be satisfied to see completed.

Will do, shes not a runner yet but hopefully will be fully stripped and gone through and brought back, has massive sentimental value to him so it'll be done properly. Needs a new cab if anyone on here knows of any for sale cash waiting! try howard and sons up near you,for a cab, tris used to work for them, do a lot of exports so the cabs usually come off for that as they dont want them ,otherwise ron greets maybe, although they are a scrap yard so may be as bad as the current one https://www.howardandsons.co.uk
