Cutting the winter barley

Cutting the oil seed rape on a field JEP should recognize

AS well as combining on the sunny days we have been catching up on the hay crop

After i had cut my barley myself and my mate Colin baled about 2000 small bales and 47 4foot round ones and carted them to 3 local livestock farmers

My own shed full of hay

When i had a hr to spare i took the rowcrops of the tractor and sprayer and put them on a big pallet and put them at back of a shed till next year

I was to busy so i had local tire company fit me 4 new tires on the AS 10 ton trailer

I have a contractor bale and clear some of my wheat straw ,some of it go to a power station

You dont see it done this way much today ,a field not too far from me ,i think Goody might be able to say where it is

Nice set up there Smithy! Looks a tidy little tractor on the baler, is it an 856?

82 is a cracker @justy 46, if the trailer had been a bit older it could easily have been a scene from the late 80’s or 90’s

Brilliant photos @smithy there is still a lot still to harvest up here.

off for thatching once its been through the thresher i guess, as you say, not a common sight now,  saw a field  like it this way a couple of years back, before that prob 6/7 years ago up suffolk again.

That's either Badingham or Earl Soham Smithy they make a lovely sight real farming scene.

All done combine back in shed off with the last load now very good harvest 2021

Thanks John ,yes the two of us soon covered a bit of ground and was able to cart most of them in daylight ,we just had to leave the full trailers at the farms we was delivering to and pick them up empty a bit later on ,so after taking out 2nd trailer we could pick up 1st one to reload ,yes its a 856 ,he has only recently bought it to replace a troublesome JD that he had ,the 856 was in good order but paintwork was dull so he had a local body shop give it a respray
