smithy
Over the last few years i have been taking the bottom row of asbestos of my barn and replacing it with steel grain-walling , at the very first lock-down i had a company in and replaced the long back half of the roof with insulated box profile as the old sheets had been on there since 1968 .Anyway moving on , i had a mate call in to see if he could be of any help 1 or 2 days a week as he was bored of being retired so we set about doing the last bit of walling . We had not used the doors for a few years as they was only big enough for a ford 5000 and 4 ton trailer so we started getting sheets of to get to door track and the 2 posts holding door track as they was in the way for a straight run with the steel walling . we reused one post to pick up angle-iron that hold sheets
smithy
2nd post that was in the way is cut halfway though ,more sheets and doors removed and some steel sheets temporary in place under the channel we have fixed to posts that will hold top of grain walling sheets
smithy
Sheets in place starting at first main post and finishing at the back where we had to cut them to angle of the barn roof .refitted the old sheets ,took the 5 small sheets off that was above door track and replaced with 5 new sheets cut to angle of the roof
smithy
Got some 3inch angle bolted to floor both sides of walling and another bit about 6inches away on inside to form a edge to work to and them fill with cement . starting to get shelves and benches back in place . The grain walling seals the bottom half of barn more secure than sheets of asbestos ,still got outside edge to cement but been busy on other things
