So today, Saturday and tomorrow, Sunday is the Newark Vintage Tractor show. I have been today and there is a lot going on. if anyone is thinking of going tomorrow then do so, you will not be disappointed. One of the highlights has to be the World Record Attempt to get as many Massey Ferguson 135s together at one time, I am lead to believe that they managed to break the record but I do not know the official numbers. There were many more 135s elsewhere in the showground so, if they really wanted to, they could have had a lot more.

Edit: just found out that the number of tractors present is 203

Excellent photos, thanks for sharing.

Are they also going for the record for 'How many different shades of red can be gathered in one field'?

It seems odd that there is no mention of this record attempt, or the show in general on the Ferguson Club website.

Something that I find annoying, not just with tractors but car shows as well as truck shows, are the entry numbers and exhibit information cards and boards. I find it a little baffling when an owner spends a good amount of time and money proudly looking after and restoring their vehicles, only to turn up at a show and hide it behind a 3'x2' information board, with an A4 'exhibit log' selotaped to the exhaust and have an exhibit no. tied between the headlights. If the organisers of the shows could make it so all the exhibit info was along one side of the machine, those who want a clean front 3/4 picture could get one, and those wanting to read the history, restoration story, and appreciate other info can take their time without fear of being in the way of others taking photos. Sorry, rant over :)

Hair Bear, i know what you mean, I had to wait several times to take the photos but,I also like reading the history of the tractor.

The IH loader looks like it was an awkward birth.

I like to read the histories as well but it's sometimes difficult to take it all in when you're aware of someone with a camera behind you - and they probably don't want your 'builders smile' in their frame!

Brilliant weekend, absolutely shattered today. Took around 5000 photos and now have a six page report to begin writing for Classic Tractor mag in the coming days.

My top three exhibits from the weekend were:

Massey Ferguson 1250 ex-West Burton Power Station.

Ben Webb's John Deere 486 mower conditioner.

Ben Craig's two wheel drive County Super 6.

I don't remember seeing the 2WD County, must have walked right by it. I have posted a photo of the MF 1250 and I think CallumC has posted a photo of the mower.

Here are one or two more interesting tractors

MF 135 which had been modified to allow disabled persons to sit in the cab with the driver and to get the driving experience first hand, the steering wheel to the left is not actually connected. The builder was/is from Northern Ireland, Martin Hanna if my memory serves me at all
