ratholderen
Nice looking wagon and drag Erik. What's it like to reverse or do you unhitch and box it from the front ??? WHAT!!!! I am TRUCKDRIVER, and i reverse it ordinary it´quite easy, you need a a bit more space than a tractor trailer, I have tried a 25 m combination it´s the same. And i have never been on a place witout i came in and out. If you visit me we can try.
BC
I didn't doubt you could not reverse it Erik...just the fact that it not so easy as an articulated trailer. I had better start practicing reversing with a 4 wheeled trailer before I come over ;)

MJB1
got quite a selection here for you to have a look at , i think , the first pics to post will be all from one farm
MJB1
still from the same farm they also had a few more fords & I-H about the place but not going to wonder off looking at them
MJB1
now from a farm in wales with a very good idea for his 956 but maybe not quite for what you'd think ? & no it's not for permanently tow starting , this farm has euro style silage heaps , lots of silage heaps over a large area , & one worker looks after 1000 acres , & a major beef job that keep him busy , so how does he keep machinery moving around by himself , well he doesn't take one machine out then walk back for the other , oh no brilliant ! some of the welsh chaps may have heard of them , lyn jones , from bury port ,Nr pembury race course i think , he runs two volvo FH 16 cattle transporters ,always at the markets
Lord Ferguson
what a simple but great idea Marcus... I hope he remembers to take it off before he drives the tractor though
MJB1
no need to mark , the whole beef unit is on an old ww2 runway complex so nothing to catch it on
Smithy140
Clever idea I reckon, Simple but very affective. When I first saw it I wondered what the hell it was going to be
Tractorman810
thats one hell of a fleet on the first farm marcus, does he contract to or just for himself?? as for the tow eye, simple clever idea, hell of a farm to run single handed mind
CJ
thats quite brilliant when towing the tractor are the front wheels still on the ground or are they lifted clear ??
The Tractor Twitcher
Nice update Marcus, that's quite a fleet of tractors on that first farm, great to see a Muir Hill in it's working clothes too, very nifty idea on the IH 956XL on the second farm. MJB1
well not a very productive week , most of the 8 wheelers went out but my farms were harder to choose , have to say artics arnt great for traction when empty here's a few pics also had to go for service just before i was leaving , this muppet tried getting in the yard with a loaded trailer , & before you comment on the way it looks to be coming in , he had actually tried coming in from the right of the picture it took nearly 40 mins to get him off the road as the workshops had nothing to tow him in with due to the slope starting to freeze over again , so the driver just kept it in gear with difflocks on & kept grinding away till he' could move a few inches at a time , i think his service sheet also recomended 4 new drive tyres asap
PDC
I think i've been to that Volvo dealership Marcus \ I was down the West Country in a FL6 furniture wagon a few years ago when my front anti-roll bar snapped
MJB1
you may well have paul , good bunch of lads there but the yard is far too small, the slope was gritted , but it doesn't take much to freeze over again on the mendips
