Carrot Covering 2006......

1/32 carrot covering is in full swing in 1/32......

The fleet this year is as follows:-

Deutz-Fahr Agrotron 210 with Samson machine

Deutz-Fahr Agrotron TTV1160 with Massey machine

Massey Ferguson 6290 with Flat-Bed Trailer for shunting bales

John Deere 3200 Telehandler

Volvo BML70 Wheel-Loader

Case CS with Stoll Front Loader

Not sure in hectares mate but we had the following sizes in acres:-

80 acre field x1

60 acre field x2

30 acre field x3

so 230 acres in all...... :) :) ;)

Thats a bit of ground mate  :o

My carpet grow only 30 acres of carrots this year along with 30 acres of onions and 60 acres of potatoes.

The pictures look neat mart,keep em coming. :)

No idea just now......All 230 acres are being over-Wintered so haven't lifted any yet......Will post as soon as I know...... :);)

Doubt that Massey spreader will last along time with 230 acres  :D

It's definitely on its last legs...... :D :D ;)

Devide by 2.45 and you have acres. :)

A crop like that is often taken only after a few years of cropping.Carrots after pasture are often realy cr@p because the clover in the pasture is a haven for nemetodes to live in,but spuds seem to love being the frist crop when the paddock comes out of grass.

There is on farmer next to me that grows....

Wheat-carrots-carrots-wheat-peas or OSR

Place I work at often grows......

pasture-potatoes-carrots-wheat or maize-pasture Because the farm is moving into more pasture for silaging and grazing also the grass helps the ground recover from back to back root crops beter.
