Deere-est Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 . .. . ... best not to stall them going up hill. ... they can be a bugger to restart and the brakes arn't nearly effective Quote
Deere-est Posted February 10, 2007 Author Posted February 10, 2007 I got a feeling Civilpeks boss is buying this and getting it back to work!!! Quote
Gav836 Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 :o Hells bells that made a mess of that! Do you know if the driver was ok? Quote
PDC Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 There not your bottom bite marks in the seat are they Tris :o :o :o Quote
Deere-est Posted February 10, 2007 Author Posted February 10, 2007 All bones intact I am told. It split in half when they tried to pull back up the 20m drop it went off!! From what I am told he was going up a track between jobs and ran out of gears, or dcouldn't change down quick enough. She stalled, started rolling and he couldn't get her started or stopped. The brakes are powered or something so with no engine.. .. . Quote

Pingu Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Blimy take it he didnt go down the gearbox quick enough to stop it stalling : But that is one hell of an accident that bloke is very lucky to still be fully intact :o Quote

gogreengelb Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 suppose they will rebuild her and sell her on as ( with low hours ) Quote
Deere-est Posted February 10, 2007 Author Posted February 10, 2007 Alan Civilpek said his boss was buying a crashed 230 - I am assuming this is the one Quote
Deere-est Posted February 10, 2007 Author Posted February 10, 2007 What she should looik like, the 200 I had a horse around in. This also fell victim to accident though, hence the new bonnet. Engine fire!!! Quote
gogreengelb Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 That looks as though its got one heck of a lock on it ,bet they dont need much headland Quote
Deere-est Posted February 10, 2007 Author Posted February 10, 2007 It surprised me too Brian, the mudguards barely move and the track width seems terribly narrow but this old girl, she certainly turns tightly even for a mid-range tractor let alone one with a canal boat for a bonnet!!! Quote
civilpek Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 yep the guys im with have bought her, we picked it up friday and its sitting in the shed already being striped down. they had a mx 270 that caught fire a couple years ago they will take the casting out of that and stick it into this one. they reckon shell be up and running again in about 3 weeks. il take a few pics of her being rebuilt and when maize starts in a few weeks ul see her pulling a trailer Quote
