Gav836 Posted February 16, 2007 Share Posted February 16, 2007 The way i do them is similar to Mike, I lay the tractor on its sid with a nut or something similar between that and the work surface making sure that the hole in the nut is under the axle then take a parallel pin punch and hammer and tap the axle rod from the other side, easy enough to do like that on the back wheels You wouldn't be able to do it with a G clamp as it would just prees the rings on tighter Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Kiwi6920 Posted February 16, 2007 Share Posted February 16, 2007 When i do my rears and have the tractor appart.. i jst grab the plyers and wobble the ring of... works well for me. i do the same for my fronts... for redoing the ring i just pack the bottom side and place the ring on the end grab my little 6mm socket (the shaft fits thru the center) it woks a treat Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
