Looks great Mike... what about sticking some "fake brick (or block) " work to that wood... I think it would look great with some sort of "breeze block" effect look  :-\ - I think ema do it  :-\

Or paint it grey and add some expansion joints so it looks like it is concrete/rendered.

the smaller building I was going to store the silage in it should it have a higher back on it ? or should I leave it open ?

I would leave it then the man with the buck rake can get right up to the back to roll it with out worrying about hitting anything........  Wind, rain, doesn't really affect sialge and silage needs to be sealed and not be able to breath or it will spoil...  ;D ;D

Looks excellent byt the way mate. Love the cattle shed!

Re: the silage barn Mike - I would leave the hieght as it is but put a rail with posts along the top of it, say 1 inch above the wall or so. It is a legal requirement to have rails around silage pits now. Wouldn't want the 1/32 Police to come after you!!
