phil phoenix
Well I decided too buy another MF7726S as I could see a potential improvement over my previous efforts. Firstly removed the cab and fitted in a driver, had to break his arm and force him to put his hand on the control lever😄 Then replaced the cab and painted the roof silver and the exhaust satin black. The wheel weights got removed and the glue residue sanded off, followed by three sprayed coats of Sapphire grey paint.
phil phoenix
I removed the two warning boards off an 8740S and prepped them with a copper wire to fit onto the cab frame. I had noticed that the new moulding used on the 8280 models front rims are still in use today and they are an exact R28 replica so resprayed them same as rears. My bugbear with this very good MF model has been the front rims being oversized. They actually measured out as a R34 rim which only get fitted onto 8700s and are a different style too. See how much wider they are in comparison. I next painted the wheelnuts on all rims and put some wear on the bar axle shafts.
Paul Palmer
Cab Roof should be smoke grey Phil, or are you using smoke grey but calling it silver? Edited January 15, 2023 by Paul Palmer Spelling
phil phoenix
Its Revell silver Paul, and granted its too light but good enough (for now). The wheels being Sapphire grey and not UH silver is more important and visually impacting. Rear wheels on, fronts being prepared. Although the wheel weights do look good on these MFs I personally like to see plenty of the grey wheels on show contrasting the darker grey chassis and bright red paint🙂 I must say Im still disapointed in the pigs ear MF have made with the bonnets on the new style 7 & 8S tractors when for me personally I think these 7700S bonnets are the best looking MF bonnets todate. Super decals and the best front grill styling on any modern tractor imo.
phil phoenix
Im really pleased with these front rims, they look the biz and real size versions of them are still fitted to current ranges of Massey's. The picture of the real 7726S was taken locally three years ago of a brand new hire machine.

phil phoenix
Hi Paul, I have a spares box which much of my stuff goes into. The Front wheels off the 8280 look super on the 7726s with a little modification. That leaves the 8280 with no front rims but I have other plans for the tractor. The tyres off the 8280 are replica 650/85 R38s which MF pioneered on the 8170 which I photographed back in 1998 at Thurlow Farms suffolk. Since then JD introduced those tyres on the 6R long wheelbase tractors from 2011 onwards, and now they are very popular on those 6R tractors. Hopefully Wiking will upgrade the 6250R to a 6R.250 and I can use the MF tyres on that.

Tractorman810
after a fair bit of head scratching, and 1 x a4 sheet near on of plasti card used ,a good few cuts on several fingers , i finally managed to get a full set of mould boards for the plough, ended up having to heat and shape the card first let it cool properly , they templated from a scaledown one temp glued to the card ,they are from from perfect, and need some bits added but i have the basic shape. main thing is, the linkage holds it all up with ease, next step rest of the mould board parts, and the depth wheel fitting, hopefully tomorrow
Tractorman810
also got a few bits on the 590 back on, steps, fuel tank, and cut the door out ready to work ,just need to tidy up the cab frame ect. sort the hinges out, along with the front weight hanger ect, and i can get the chassis painted into stoneleigh grey . think the cab may end up silver and red, seeing as i have it all stripped out .

phil phoenix
Hi Paul, I'm waiting on Henry Walker for fresh dealer decals to put on the bonnet, should be here this week then I will put up photo's next weekend. I've currently got an MF8220 in bits, painting parts and ageing her a little.

phil phoenix
Looking at 2000 series MFs online the other day I remembered that the 2620 exhaust is on the left side as you look at the tractor head on, whereas the 40,80 & 2720 all have exhaust on the right. Same with 2005 series. And yet UH c*cked up and put all exhausts on the left side with the 2000s! Hopefully they will correct that error when the next model in the series gets released. Maybe at Nurnburg show starting on Weds. I had to fill in the exhaust hole when I did my 2725 convo and drill a fresh hole for the exhaust and reposition it on the right side. I used Revell No34 red paint over the filler which is virtually a perfect colour match for these MFs. Certainly worth having a little pot of it when doing MF convo's🙂

UH have there new release of their 2645 with the exhaust on the left as you look head on but i see them on the right??
phil phoenix
As I said previously Paul, the 2620/ 2625 exhaust is on the left hand side if you are stood in front of the tractor, but its on the right with every other 2000/2005 model. UH f***ed up and made all with the left side exhaust, so me, Sean and now your good self have to remove the exhaust and re home it on the right😄 Just imagine driving that 2645 that UH have just shown on facebook with an exhaust & pre cleaner on different sides of the bonnet to look at instead of both being inline.
