Jez
Ok I thought as we all have that the Norscott pick up is too wide so I will run through here how I have converted it to be a PU 300, the 3 mtr version we see in the uk. I started by taking the whole thing apart and deciding how much needed to come off each side to make it 3 mtr, 9.3 cm in 1/32 scale. I have tried to show how much needs to come off in the pictures. I measured from the middle to the outsides where the sides needed moving to. The outside parts are 1.5cm wide and the centre part that I left was 6 cm wide, 6 + 1.5 + 1.5 = 9 cm wide as a base. I did the same with the bottom part that hols the pick up in place.
Jez
Here is how much i cut out of the middle of the pick up reel then re mounted and braced it back onto the bottom section. I also braced the rear of the pick up that will be used for park stands. After I had done the same adjustments with the top part and braced them back together I needed to shorten the auger. Depending on how the two parts go back together will depend on how much needs to come off the auger. I needed to glue the auger back into place when done to help strengthen the whole top part. Unfortunately the top screw holes did not quite line up so it is glued back together. it is just as strong now and I just need a forager to put it on. Here is a pic of the nearly finnished article:
Jez
All that is left to do is to mount the screen back on the top and possibly take the pick up wheels off and make them moveable so they will swing around in front like the real one. Hopefully this has been some help, possibly not but it gvies you an idea of how to do it. Took me about 2 hours to to.
Deere-est
I got a forager you can put it on It looks good Jez, PDC does PU300 stickers if your interested?? Be nice to do that on an 840 Jag, from a Norscott 880. Add two blue additive barrels and that's the chopper I'll be hauling from this year. Helpful Topic bud.
