ERTL JOHN DEERE 8400 EUROPEAN SPEC CONVERSION

Recommended Posts

This is one conversion I have wanted to do for ages as for as much as I think the ERTL 8400 is a cracking model with great detail I just don't like the North American styling ::) ::)

I have managed to acquire an unboxed 8400 so here goes :P :P

I wanted to extend the rear mudguards but unfortunatly the ZTX mudguards were the wrong shape :(

I found a set off a UH MTX which were just right ;) ;)

So I trimmed back the 84400 mudguards and cut the MTX ones to fit :o :o

the front wheels a good.but the rear one, don't now a bit small i think.

I know what you're saying I really want 8530 rear wheels but i'm not buying a tractor at that price just for rear wheels ::) ::)

I'll see what the ZTX ones look like when painted ;)

I may try Britains 8330 rears as yet

Looks great mate, taking shape nicely indeed!!!!

Will look very nice on the Kverneland plough with a press along side.

Or a bit power harrow drill.

Or the solo?

Will be watching with interest  ;) ;)

I'm liking this topic!!

Paul, can you show a picture of the filler and a quick guide on how to use it?

This is something that i want to do (hence the other post i started) but have no idea what materials to use and how to use then.

I have for the last few evenings been looking at which wheels to use and how to extend the mudguards, either using plastic or cuting another models mudguards off and using them (mainly JD models, did'nt think to use ZTX ones)

I'd also like to fit a front hitch on mine, maybe scratch built all out of plastic.

Keep up the good work!

So far so jealous!! She's a beaut so far Paul. Here, how about the 7920 wheels with those fancey tyres from Karen? The wheels will be perfect mate.

That's a possibility mate like I say i'm going to paint these yellow and see how they look ;) ;)

Bazza the filler is not filler ??? ??? I can never seem to get on with fillers so I use the same stuff I use for bondind die-cast ::) Araldite rapid steel :) it's a two part mix really east to use readily availible and you can grind, file or sand it when it's gone off ;) ;)
