Jez
Well I thought I would start a topic that we can all post up some pics of the harvest near us or the harvest at your farm. Also a little question to start us off: " How long until the combines get harvesting? " Oh yes, I do mean the usual arable crops, barley, oil seed rape etc etc. This can be open for anyone and everyone, if you see a combine giver it a shout here. Also it will give a nice insight to how the harvest time changes across the uk and Ireland. I think harvest in the midlands (Derbyshire ) will be about two weeks at least until they get cutting
Tractorman810
recon it will be a little late down here this year, despite the good planting conditions , lots of crops not really yellow yet compaired to up east anglia, usally we are 2/3 weeks ahaed due to the climate
Pingu
We should be cutting next tues/weds if weather stays rasonable but doesnt look it so some time next week when it isnt raining :D
NewHolland2
I'd give it at least 4 weeks here yet until we get into full swing around here...... :)
ctsboy
Its looking like 2-3weeks before we get going in the rape, going to start desicating next week. All dependent on the weather, looks like some barley local on light ground may going sooner, but we have none so got to wait that bit longer to get the green fleet rolling. nashmach
Spring barley looks like another 6 to 7 weeks off but I guess some winter barley will be cut in 3 weeks time - wheat still very green so will be late this year - south east Ireland - the premier barley growing county
