BC
Well on Saturday the 16th of August 2008 Peter Small of Cupar will be holding a dispersal sale of his vast collection of vintage and bygone memoribilia. Peter is not yet 50 but has been collecting for 20 odd years now and has decided to roup out to concentrate on writing and making DVD's on vintage and bygone days etc. This is one sale I cannot miss despite the fact that there is a Border Fine Art Sale on at Thainstone Inverurie and my local Rally is on that weekend just 5 miles up the road from me. I have taken the view there will always be another BFA sale and many more deeside Steam and Vintage rallies but there will only be one Peter Small roup :D I attach the link to the catalogue which spans to 671 entries including inputs for sale. It is interesting to see that this is a VAT free sale so bidding could be high. For those of you who subscribe to "Tractor" magazine you should have received that yesterday and Polly Pullar has done an article about Peter and his forthcoming sale. http://www.lawrie-and-symington.com/html/sales/forfar.php

NewHolland2
A great round-up there Bill........Sorry we never made it as I would have snapped up one of those 135's at that price........ Yep, that John Deere with loader is the mart's tractor, can be seen on a slurry bowser fairly regularly........
britainswomble
What a fantastic line up of machinery. Well laid out too. Oh to win the lottery and be let loose somewhere like that. It always seems sad to me that whenever you go to a vintage show; there are dozens of gleaming tractors and very few implements. A tractor with an implement from its heyday is many times more interesting, and even more so if it works and can be seen working. Many would say it's hard to transport tractors and implements, but even a tractor with a small rigid tine cultivator or sprayer would be easy to take along. A small sprayer would be greatly appreciated at most displays as it could be used to keep the dust down around the site. In September we have the Laughton (Lawton) Vintage show, and this is a particularly good one as they have a working area as well as a section for 4 x 4's to play in the mud and attempt to climb almost impossible inclines. I'm a "Dyed in the wool" Ford and Fordson fan, but one tractor that always draws my attention is the grey and gold FE? 35. The one pictured is a real cracker, and I'd give it a home any day. Finally, welcome to our whacky forum Pentland 500. A very well known name from E Bay. I think I once phoned you when I started collecting Britains toys again, and bought a few items from you. Welcome aboard.

Yep, that John Deere with loader is the mart's tractor, can be seen on a slurry bowser fairly regularly........ It was a very good sale Martin... just went on a bit too long. Having said that there were three auctioneers and swapping after selling about 100 lots each. The sale would have been quicker if they had separate sales going on but that would have spoiled Peter's sale and I glad they conducted it in they way the did. I never managed to see the models being sold so I don't know what they made. PS I think one of the MF's may have been bought by the Robb family from Forfar

Welcome aboard. Yes I agree with your comments on implements Will. that why I like my Cub with the midmounted mower. Despite those massey beasties not being my favourite brand I'll have to admit Mike Robertson's Grey Gold was a cracker. He said he was selling it since he wanted another project but personally me thinks he wasn't winning enough prizes with it ;D. Years agao judges critiscised it saying the colour of gold was wrong and he actually went to the bother of having the gold resprayed.
