This is actually near Sharpsburg, Maryland. This is the Joseph Poffenberger farm on the Antietam National Battlefield. A bloody battlefield of the American Civil War. I took the photo a few months ago.

Beautiful pic Dan. Reminds me of the Ozark Foothills where I live

  2. This is my old McCormick Hay Rake I’ve had for well over 20 years. When I first got it it had dry rotted tires on the front I took them off and ran it with iron ever since. It cleans the fields nicely and works every time. All I’ve done to it in the time I’ve had it is general maintenance.

I'm wondering if any of the IH McCormick guy's can help shed light on this,When I was 10 / 11,  1964 or 1965,My late father used to drag a big IH or McCormick baler around useing a B250 or maybe a B275,It was I powered by either a single cylinder or twin air cooled engine,I have Googled this a fair few times and all I can find is a No 50,That might have been the right one but that is fitted with a four cylinder petrol I guess engine,Maybe the air cooled engine was UK spec,That engine had some power as I recall the whole tractor baler combo rocked back and forth as the plunger went back and forth so much so the whole rig started sinking into the soil,??

    Regards

    Joe,
