i would have to say that it wouldn't damage the paint if you don't leave it on for long periods of time but I think the biggest problem you would run into is getting all of the dirt off when you wanted it off. For that I would suggest a blow gun attachment with an air compresser and maybe tips for crevices and what not. Hopefully this helps,
