surprisingly the fh 1450 is still available today by jf-stoll...i remember being 14 years old and cuttting a neighbours silage with a brand new fh450 on his ih 674 cutting 64 acres first cut,so to still see the machine being made today basically unchanged is a trip down memory lane for me.....shown below is the brand new jf-stoll fh1450....i can also offer my fh 1450 model in the new jf-stoll livery or indeed the older jf style

the forager cuts 1450mm by blunt flails which actually cut the grass off and then the rotor speed throws the cut grass up the chute into the trailer...one thing i do remember is how hard they were to drive, low 2nd in the 674 in first cut and at times the tractor getting it very tight in heavy crops, ive always said the double chop such as the taarup dc1500 were not any harder to drive as these cut the grass with sharp flails and then relied on the 2nd cutting drum to act as a blower, this 2nd cutting drum was like a flywheel principle and when revved up to its working speed probably didnt absorb a load of power, but the single chops required a lot of hp driving that big rotor that cut and also discharged the cut grass......

ready to cut...........its surprisingly difficult making these foragers as i have to shape out the bodies by hand, then make up a brass frame for the forager and then the carrying frame on the tractor, then getting the whole thing lined up is tricky as when a trailer is fitted it tends to pull down on the linkage, the easiest way out is if the tractor had a proper 3 point linkage as the fitment of a top link would make my job a whole lot easier.....im not likely to be making more of these as i now have all the single chops i want,it took me 13 hours to make each model
