Murray, can't remember if I have asked you before or not but the term 'Mains' in farm names up your way, does it mean anything like a block of land, estate, acres or anything? Just interested to know if there is a particular meaning to the name or another translation?

Like Keiss Mains would mean Keiss Acres, know what I mean?  \

yeah your right Tris. its just means the estate as you said, a block of land is all it is. alot of farms go by mains up here  \

that's why i worrie about 'new' boys that drive for the contractor some of them are just fresh out the town and never had any Major tractor work, when they haul grass it seems to be a good idea and go heavy on the right foot. they dont seem to know how long it would take to stop a tractor going flat out with say 10t of grass in the back accident waiting to happen. another one i worrie about plenty plant contractors going about this county just now. They are hauling rock for drive ways, drains or whatever you see them coming out the quarry, tractor no where near capable of pulling the load. The weight that must be in some of the trailers that pass here is unreal. Seen a good few tractors here in caithness blowing the pistons and wrecking wheels or castings, that was a very intersting read Tris

seen a 7030 pass a 820 fendt.  fendt had the old style 4m vaderstad seeder. 7030 had 4m press on front and was pulling the new vaderstad with the new wheel  design. the vaderstad agent is 100% certain that the new design is easier going and requires less horse power to pull

alot of boys said at scot grass they'd far rather the old jaguar to the new ones, alot of them are turning to jd's.  theres only 1 jd harvester up here and 8 maybe 9 claas harvesters

we've a park here that nothing has been in since last september some crops in her   alot of rain and warm weather has fairly got her going

you might find that 64 WILL go bang it will have a very short lifespan, it is just simply not designed to cope with that power, also you will need 4 injectors within a very short period of time

thats what i thought no way a 4 cylinder will cope  doing 169 horse

i would guess they are artisan 32 weights and linkage mate, could be wrong but they look like them to me

iv another wiking deere coming home going to put the other laforge linkage on her i like the yellow weights might do the same 

That is an impressive set up, the forager must go at a fair rate to keep all them trailers busy

Did you make the rear axle on the forager steerable?

yeah i used the jag 960 axle also added a rear hitch all i need now is to make the header lift
