  1. Just been searching through various catergories, what on earth has happened to the whole system

You cant choose distance nearest 1st,ending soonest etc

the item you look at seems to be all over the place on the listing page i.e cant seem to enlarge pictures,to me the whole set up has gone totally pathetic? ??? ??? ??? ??

  2. eBay changed their fee system one around a little while ago - for private sellers starting an auction style listing at 99p, there is now no insertion fee, and you can insert one picture for free.

Final value fees for private sellers are now a blanket 10%, up to a maximum fee of £40 on any one item; ie. the fee on an item selling for £400 or more will be £40 (apart from listings in 'eBay Motors' which have a different fee structure)

Fees for business sellers are more complicated, and vary from one category to another, but in general the listing fees are higher than for private sales, and the final value fees are lower.

To be honest, unless you have a rare issue which is in demand, reselling recent issues is almost certain to make a loss after taking into account fees and non recoverable costs (such as travelling miles to the nearest PO!).

I really only watch Britains, but eBay prices have been very erratic recently (though the prices realised are generally a lot lower than a year ago).  There have been some real bargains on older items, but sometimes they attract the attention of a number of bidders and sell for over  the odds.  Genuinely rare and desirable, or well hyped items still go for silly money.  I have also noticed that in general, 'Buy It Now' prices for older Britains are way over the top, and they never sell - certain sellers have had the same items going round and round on constant relisting for over a year or more (you'd think they would have cottoned on by now!)

totally agree, still cant beat the toy fair for purchasing obsolete items, have a browse first then a bit of bartering - cant beat it
  3. Sounds like a bargin, looking forward to the pictures, does she have a log book or number plates?

yeah f redg and log book was changed last night so should recieve back within a few weeks 2 previous owners, last 1 owned it for 15 years, refurbished it and hardly used it as he lived in a terreced house and only went on the road for a drive now and again

  4. Purchased a massey 135 yeaterday, swept back axle, genuine 2300 hours for new,f redg, new tyres and wings all dials, lights work.....sat in a little shed at back of a terraced house in garden for last 2 years-never started or moved

    How much? ??? ??? ??? ??

nearest guess could win a prize and be presented with it at spalding (i have a table booked again)

  5. i bought 2 mf 700 silage trailers from dan, silage pit from george, xtra big size, universal hobbies 590, ford 5610 ,ford 7000 old type conversion from brian holms, alfa laval slurry tanker boxed ,boxed front cultivator britains with hitch, oak tree  , 4 trailers from brian norman, grain hopper and a jentil straw blower

someone with you got a milking parlour at a good discounted rate

  6. i will be in the smaller room once again, this will be the 5th time i have had a table not many members on here will know me but we are usually 2nd row back nearer to side doors.Staying in a b&b at Whaplode night before which we have used for several years now but we did stay in travelodge in october for a change (nice climb upstairs to get to reception)and had a few drinks in pub next door before heading into spalding town centre for a few more bevvies. On sunday we will be selling mostly obsolete britains and some other brands i.e nzg siku Uh,i had just managed to aquire a collection of 80's britains recently so that helps fill the table-see you all there

  7. Having surveyed the ifor williams trailer at Spalding in more detail i am very unimpressed with this model, the towing hitch is pathetic, the general build and appearence are poor and as for the 2 cows that come with it???

It has no comparison to the earlier britains version-but how come siku managed to secure the rights to this model? Why did britains lose out when they had such a success with original version

  8. The reason that available models like the 1200 and other tractor models which cost in excess of the ton mark is the original castings, models been built from several parts, fitting the kits together and the liscensing and copywright from the sole ownership

Personally it annoys me that these models can be thrown together in a country where labour is very cheap, huge numbers can be reached in a short period and a world wide market

Whereas someone has managed in this country to produce highly detailed models, which has involved a lot of hard work, time and effort to create something which attracts a certain market which the large toy manufacturers should have latched onto at the time of the proper tractor been in production

An example - massey 390 1 of the best selling tractors in the UK in the 1990's

The closest thing to it a 362????

Some one has taken the time and effort to produce this model 10 years on,is it popular

    i rest my case ???????????
