  1. According to Crilley and Burkholder the "424" model was produced in 1976 and the "426" with the cab was produced in 1978. Both were originally made in Germany and are 1/29 scale and the cabbed version was also made in the more usual green.

Gama also made a similar version with a roll over frame (ROPS) which was available in both red and green and both with and without a side mower.

They are certainly rare these days but I don't have any information as to how many were actually produced in either colour. I have seen these make up to £70 on a good day on eBay but, as with all auctions, you could also get a bad day when they make much less than that.

    Mike, thanks for your information!

  2. Today two GAMA Deutz tractors came in, of which I would like some more information. It are two red versions of the Deutz D10006A, one with a cabin and one with a frame.

Are these models sold in the US only? Can you say something about the product code on the boxes, which are "424" and "426". In what production numbers are these model produced? I heard these are rare, but what is rare in this case....

I hope I can get some more information, pictures are below.

  3. I had a great weekend too, but the show wasn't as busy as the previous years I think.  I came home with quite a few brochures thanks to Wil and some good hunting. Great to meet some of the FTF members over here. I have now an idea to what fools enthousiasts I'm talking.

Reading the stories below I think you've got a great time over here and you complied with the prejudices I have about english people... serious, quiet, drinking soda..... ;) ;)  .

I hope I will meet you again at Spalding next spring, because I have serious plans to visit that show.

  4. Fair point Wil.. I think my problem is that I've got all the cheaper ones now... and I'm now heading well and truly, head first, into £50 territory  :'(  ... poor old Mrs F has a fit when she looks at my eay sometimes  :-[  :D :D

I recognize your situation, when I started I bought several standard cheap brochures a week. Now I buy maybe one brochure a week, but my budget keeps the same  ;D :'( .

When I buy code / language variations of relative new brochures (luckely I stop collecting with Ford NH middle 90's) I won't spend more than 5 euro per brochure. I will buy more older / rare items for more than 5 euro (of course).

I don't see selling new brochures at high prices as a crime, because I'm convinced that it is your own decision to buy that new brochure or collect it at your local dealer.

  5. well done lads... I'd like to red about Atte... he's quite a legend over here.. as for Johnny MF... everyone loves him  :P:-*:-*

Not to mention Ronald.. and his 'bad habbit' of collecting paper  :D :D

Maybe a silly question, but can you read dutch? I'm very happy with the article and the dutch guys are getting more famous day by day  ;D ;D

  6. This week I got a question from someone if I had information about the Ford 9500. I said I never heard about a 9500 and asked him if he meant the 6500 or 5095? But he was convinced that it was produced in Holland. It was introduced at the RAI (dutch tractor show) of 1968 and his uncle had worked with it.

So I looked in the "Ford Trekkernieuws" (Dutch Ford Tractor News, 2 monthly magazine) of 1968 and yes there was an article about the FORD 9500 I never knew / saw this one  :of :of :of :of . I'm still drooling by the fact that there must have been a brochure of this rare model, because it was introduced / showed at the RAI. Does anyone have this brochure or is it also published in the UK? Please let me (us) know.

Here the article, sorry lads it is in dutch.

  7. As told earlier before I write down all prices of my brochures starting in 2005, so this is an easy question for me. The most I've paid for a brochure is about £100 for a E27N brochure with a Perkins P6 engine fitted published in Canada.

I looked through my Excel sheet and calculated that the average Ford(son) / County cost me £8,50 over the last six years. That were a lot of brochures and not only standard ones... I didn't knew that till know (interesting topics Mark!!!!). I couldn't believe it was that low, but I recalculated it  . Collection brochures is a hobby, but looking for bargains on Ebay is an even bigger hobby, I spend a lot of time searching on Ebay and with result I think  :P .

How much I want to pay for a brochure? When I follow my emotion it is unlimited "I want that brochure, I just want it!! >:( >:( ", but most of the time my conscience wins  :( . My limit is around £100 for a rare item in good condition. That happens luckily not very often, because it is and will be a hobby for me and I don't have an unlimited budget. To reduce my costs I'm also buying brochures and farm models to sell them again with a reasonable margin, everybody happy.

Last but not least a tip of the day to save a lot of money (works for me): BE PATIENT. Most brochures come by more than once, just wait and take your chance.
