  1. Cow sheds pretty much how I wanted it to be now so now I can focus on the rest of the farm yard Tempted to make this shed taller for bedding storage and use the other to bays for feed might be easier just to build another shed though I think
  2. Lots of scrunched up news paper packed around the wooden frame and covered in masking tape before covering in plaster cloth, then sprayed it green before using my static flocking machine for the grass. Thanks really impressed with your kit I’ve thought about building my own for years but never got round to it so when I seen your kits it didn’t take me long to order one
  3. Been spreading a bit of slurry the last few weeks New trailers finally arrived for the scania and getting out straight to work could do with a taller back scene 😂
  4. One of the loads this week, sounds like we should be able to have our bulk trailer early next week, looks like the driver will be glad to get rid of the low loader he’s not a fan of having to chain down every load 🙈
  5. It’s certainly is, Yh I’ve nearly built your kit just a bit more painting and the finally assembly of it all to do can’t wait to hook it up to it might have a go at it tomorrow night see if I can get it done
  6. Yh will have to take the long route around locals moan about the heavy traffic using the short cut over the bridge anyway won’t be long before a weight restriction introduced probably 🙈
  7. Got the edge of a field on the corner done this weekend The contracting side has also taken delivery of a new tractor unit straight into the workshop to have a check over and add a few extras This one will mainly be pulling a bulk trailer but the body builders are a bit behind at the minute so will be on the low loader this week moving machines for a few of the local plant hire companies
  8. It’s little steps but it’s slowly starting to get to the point I can add all the tractors and machinery and livestock back onto the display All the doors are now fitted on the cattle shed and both robots in position apart from some automatic slurry scrapers and water troughs it’s nearly ready for the girls Managed to add concrete panels to the machinery shed I’d made a few years ago I think it looks better for it, tried dirtying the panels up a bit but not to much
  9. The shed back in place, all the cubicles now in just need another robot some doors water troughs and automatic scrapers
  10. Making the slurry slats, good job I got lots of old siku pallets to use up they are perfect for it
  11. Loading up and moving the shed builders manitou now the bulk of the shed is built and the farms merlos can do the rest
  12. Quite a bit of progress made with the cattle shed yesterday starting to take shape now much stronger than the first one I made, got one of the robots in, need to get the feed barriers in next and another robot ordered
  13. Thanks lee Yh it was a pain when I done the first side I was doing it with one arm in a sling and slipped cutting out one off the door ways so waited until I was allowed to use my arm properly to do the rest and not made any more mistakes yet hopefully get chance to get some more done next weekend
  14. This is the new design for the cattle shed as I was getting annoyed at how the corrugated card was coming off the frame of the first one I started, and it had faded really bad from sun light so making a wooden one instead now stronger and slightly bigger, took a lot of patience annoying I slipped with the saw on one side so had to make a piece to repair it hoefully get the concrete panels done on it next weekend ran out of time today
  15. Few more bits been done lately an extra bay added on to the workshop with an office and storage above, river also extended with a deeper part added. The workshop and the yard area around it needs a good tidy up I’ve just got to many other parts of the layout to do all at once
  16. Thanks guys got a fair bit of time to get the farm rebuilt at the minute as I’ve broken my collar bone so should so have some more photos of bits and pieces next few weeks just a bit limited with what tools I can use with one arm got a bit done around the house as well and two sheds repaired and decided to re build the cattle shed that I’ve never finished, making it’s a different way
  17. The farm had a problem with one of the boreholes this week so an engineer and the farmer had to replace the pump to keep up with the demand of water for the herd, the pumps have a hard life in this area as there’s a lot of iron and manganese in the water that blocks up the impellors and pipework so they have to be cleaned once in a while
  18. With the new farm being built the contracting side of the business has been busy digging stone out the quarry. Because the grounds a bit wet we been using the tractors and dump trailers rather than the lorry’s luckily vosa aren’t working at the moment due to covid 19 so we don’t need to worry about getting stopped. It’s also been an excuse to try out our new nc and compare it to the herbst.
  19. Got a bit more done last month starting to figure out how it’s going to look now need to repair some of the sheds though and finish the cubicle shed at some point, getting there with the fields now though
  20. Thank don’t think I’ll get chance to do much until a couple weeks time but hopefully I get a few hours in the evening during the week to crack on with it
  21. Managed to find some time lately and decided to completely take apart and restart the farm, mainly because it had got a mess and needed a good clean and tidy up kept my favourite boards mainly the workshop one and kept all the buildings, made it easier to get around it and by separating the frame the boards sit on and having two separate frames meaning I can easily reach the middle of the larger layout rather than having to jump up onto it and risk standing on and breaking a model, if the weather stays as wet as it is I might get enough weekends to get it all looking the way I want it although wet weather doesn’t stop all my work
  22. Thanks Julian we run pretty much all fendt tractors a old little 306 with loader for scraping and a old dieselross for taking to shows, a black 415 and 936 a 516, 724, 818, 930, 939 and a couple of valtras one n143 and two T valtras.
