Splashed out on an RP Toolz mitre cutter after reading some good reviews on it. Have struggled a bit getting 1394 nose guard done with the angles and size involved, thought this might help future projects. Solid piece of kit, as yet to be tested. Also had a Birch leaf maker, other types of leaf available, should fill the winter evenings tree making.

Found this in a secondhand bookshop. It gives good insight to older farm buildings in the 250 odd pages & is packed with 230 photo's in colour & black/white, some very atmospheric. A good source for farm building modelling & landscapes. Printed back in 1981. One Ted would particularly enjoy I think.

35 degrees at 5 o'clock and now it's raining

Came up behind one of Valley Axe Man's Crossland tankers this morning in Muller livery. Got the Crossland badge on the back. Small world.

Thanks for sharing, some tidy looking kit there.

All good over the last 3 years/500 hours touch wood. Seems to handle anything its given. Lucky to have good local dealer backup, had more niggles with the 1394 to be honest.

Thanks Smithy, taken a few years to fine tune things.Looks & smells like hay so I think we're all good. Pressure off, can get back to the 1394 uh conversion now before it gathers dust!

Managed to get our bit of hay done between last Saturday and Wednesday, only about 5 acres for the ponies which does them for the year. Gone from a 4' to 6' mower which speeded the job up & seems to have saved a load of diesel. Wife hauled last load in just as forecast rain started, couldn't of been closer finish, happy days.. Wuffled straight after mowing & again next morning, certainly cut the drying time down.

Looks well behind the 1490 Ted, very handy if you can do your own decals. Is there an app/program you've used to edit the images before printing, had a read up on doing it but couldn't figure out easiest one to use.

Ok, so I am having a tiny issue about the front loader, not seen one of these in the flesh but how does it look? It is just placed somewhat fixed for the sake of getting photos - but concerning the front part, should the upper cylinder have been moved further up?
Trying to fit an artisan hydraulic part there but it just seems it won't go all in, thus making it stick out too much (tried drilling the hole a bit longer)
I like what your're making there Jan. I have an original DB loader on the tractor here. I will take some photos of the bucket/ram in different positions tonight for you if that helps.

It looks like it has the potential to make some nice clean hay paddy. Do you make it into small squares?
Used to Martin but last on contractors list in catchy weather so got my own kit so me & the missus can do it between us. Got a small round baler, does equivalent of 3-4 small squares per bale. Run it behind 50hp Branson and use double spike on 1394 for collecting and putting up. Beauty is never have to get off tractor unless baler has a problem of course! Got twin spike for back of Branson which goes on after the baler & missus does chasin with it. Only do 7 acres for ourselves, start about 1pm baling & in the barn by 10.
