I ask as there arn't a huge amount of McCormicks round my way but I guess he'd have been a long way from home to be yours
What year is a MK4 then? Look quite similar to Wessex's 14t that's all
We got that one last year ex demo. They do 10 12 14 18 tonners they look pretty much alike till you get up close

Clearly suffered from a porous block at some stage too
Relably informed today that she is totally original But she did have a clutch fitted a few years ago in spain So they sent there fitter off clutch in suitcase with spanners
-
What Bunnings do you use and would I have seen a McCormick with a Spearhead trimmer in Calne on Saturday belonging to you?
I asked today we have mrk 4s ten tonners but will check at the lamma show I know we get about trimming but not that far yet we only run 2 bomford

Still earning her keep with a 4m3 power harrow Must add she is preferred over a jcb 140 only because she has a creeper gear
-
Was running in bottom gear no revs so pulling at 750 rpm The aim was six ton over a 45 yard strip 4mtrs wide each strip was marked out with a walking measure covering the ground with about 2 inchs
view out the front got a bit tight when the rails leaned in a bit
spreading the door was only open three foot

Got a welcome break from trimming for a day Puma 180 and spreader with the doors on to go and put a new surface on a race gallop First load of the day was weighed before i left the yard tractor and spreader a healthy 14300 tons with load 20300 only six ton load normally recon 10-12 ton depending on muck .
loading with a 360 very slowly
view out the back

Try hibernate during winter ;D
That sounds good idea but I'm still doing 9hrs a day 5/ 6 days a week trimming one of the pitfalls of working for a contractor
-
Like the picture Stevo. Love the contracting life myself, Hopefully will have a Puma on Demo in Spring had a Fendt 718 and a Deutz TTV in Autumn.
Thanks it is an intresting job at times ( providing you don't like sleep) When it gets manic in the summer The puma's are a very nice tractor you will like them

do you do any coutting for councils steve we have 3 hedge trimmers with them and that kind of stuff you see quite often but its normally matraces and stuff like that
No council work mainly farms and a fair few private houses and on odd occasions tree surgeons working on major road works mostly that is done at night not a lot thankfully last year i started at 11 pm and finished at 3.30 am. Then round bailin by 9.am

wheres that fergy regestered to then stevo?? looks blurry but to me it looks like ts a wa or wx plate, i saw the local dealer's lorry that i use while i was up that way early nov, long way from cornwall for them
She came from twisters (Lister's) at cirencester so gloucestershire plate .They get changed every two years all three tractors then hire in another three for the summer
-
You can come and do my hedges Stevo - lovely job
Don't tell my boss He will have me up there tomorrow Still would be nice to see some different scenery for a change . I take pride in what i do thanks
-
bet it took some while getting the fence out of her
tidy work tho
Oh yes took me one quick call to our local fitter .Straight round to his yard and out with the gas five mins Only took 20 mins there and back
-
what spearhead is it, i can see its an excel, is it a 600? what controls does it have as my 590 excel is easy to operate and im sure you would enjoy having a go driving it i think all trees should be chopped down along with lamp posts, signs etc would make flailing so much easier (nice job you were making also )
Excel 606 and the control box nearly fills the cab up ugly thing apparently it's the wrong box .But there were a lot of staff changes at the time so nobody really had a clue what was going on
sooo boring if there's no trees to go around
-
Well been trimming on the same farm for 11 days now Still got my trimming buddy with the mf 6490 700 hrs on the clock not too fussed on havin a drive (only because of the trimmer controls) but might have a go after Christmas
not really had much chance to take many pics
Also must add i have been travelling to and from every day on my mxu about a 50 mile round trip cheaper than using the farm truck
-
Yes i know it's a massy but she has a blanket to keep her warm so don't know the model no but on a 08 plate and burning 10 ltrs hr
This is the sort of troubles we have to put up with
and a most satisfiable job
I had to do a good job hear apparently the owner plays a major part in the royal Chelsea show

I will double check that next time i get over that way. I used too use a 98 on a forager back in the mid 80s and seem to remember that it had three steps into the cab and had a longer pre cleaner. Intresting drive on banks the 4wd lever kept popping out
