Obviously first task is new front tyres, stop the diesel leak, get all the lights to work and take it on a road run!

I’ve always wondered how IH would have fared if they’d managed to survive and avoid being bought up by Tenneco, it’s sad how they went from a world class brand to now just being a little badge on a red painted blue tractor
Well I'd have been longing after new ones, rather than chasing ancient ones on eBay! 😁 I think though that changes would have had to have been made years before the bankruptcy and buyout. Dad was scathing about having some of the models built via Indian intermediaries, as he said those firms were then able to build tractors which competed directly with IH offerings in other parts of the world. I've no idea how much truth there is to this though.

They would be the golden years I would think Simon, I always intend visiting Doncaster, but there was always something else happening, I finally got around to booking a tour and at the last minute it was cancelled as it was when ARGO pulled the plug
That's a shame, and of course it's a housing estate now. I have a memory of dad taking me in to show his colleagues his new son, but I'd have been less than 3 so it's a bit fuzzy! I do also remember drawing on ih branded paper for years as a child, dad must have brought a load home at some point for work, but then lost his job.

Thanks very much Simon, hope you don’t mind me being nosey but what was your Dad’s connection with IH?
No problem, he was a design engineer with them in the late 70s until the early 80s. Initially he was working on backhoes, then got transferred to working on the tractors.

Again, awesome work! Good to see an 84 series, another one Dad had (re)design input on.

Nice bit of kit, all the advantages of a round baler, without the huge bales

Which is why you list it as 'generic small square baler' 😁

Looks awesome, will you be selling the STL when it's done?

Could you try the tooth paste polishing technique to take out the scratches in the glass?

Cant like the post as you say you lost your job but i do like your little tractor and it looks like its got a nice cosy home 👍👍👍
Thanks, hopefully once the money starts coming in again I can get the cab fixed up and get the glazing back in, along with a metal roof. The canvas one holds water and chucks it in your lap when you start without the windscreen.

a cerberus mccormick cx 100 in gold for our Matt. Never seen one of these before and the seller said it was to celebrate 50 years of tractor production at Doncaster. It also came with a tankard, On the tankard though is a case cx 100 and a mccormick farmall and after a bit of googling I can't find much out, but 50 years was celebrated in 1999 and mccormick started manufacturing in 2000 so weather it was to celebrate end of one era and the start of another can anyone shed any light?
Slightly more exciting than what Dad got for 40 years of IH in Donnie😁

Might work, give talcuum powder a try too. It'll was off if it doesn't have the desired effect.

Heading off to Cambers shortly to try and finally get some connectors for the outside taps. Think they are old imperial threads about 1 1/4" in diameter so no hozelock works with them. Going to have to make up adapters but so far the only connectors that fit are for 25mm hoses.

It's oils coming out of the rubber. There are some sprays that work to stop this on softer rubber like latex, but not sure for harder compounds.

That's awesome! Just been looking at photos of the real things (we need something to manage the stream here). Boy did the cabs on those rot badly.
