  1. A few general views of the activities in the yard at Two Sister’s Farm. I hope you have enjoyed the selection of both tractors, rail shunters and rail trucks. Over the years when the layout was on show at model railway exhibitions it has created a lot of interest and comments from viewers. It has even been voted the best in show on two separate occasions. Once again many thanks for looking at the thread. Peter M
  2. A few photos to illustrate the difference between the two Opel rail trucks. Then a close up of the double ended shunter which is also used as a portable generator for work out in the fields away from an electricity supply. Peter M
  3. Another picture of the double ended shunter with a rake of hay and wheat loaded on short four wheel wagons. Then the double ended shunter is seen from above with the same load, filmed at Wrec Rail show. Peter M
  4. A few general views of the yard and the vehicles working there. Peter M
  5. These photographs were taken at Wreck-Rail exhibition held in a small village just outside Market Harborough a few years ago. While checking everything over prior to the show I did a couple of jobs I have been meaning to do for some time. I have never liked the look of the driver in the green shunter so I used the dog as a sort of distraction. Now the shunter has a new driver and the little white dog has now taken up residence on the wooden bodied Simplex along with his owner who can no longer be seen. Children at shows seem to like to see the little white dog. Peter M

  7. A few more photos from someone other than me. I did a small local show just before Covid struck with my regular helper Andy Knott who was in David Baily mode and took a few pictures. A touch more arty than the his usual fare I think. Peter M
  8. I am afraid that I have just posted the last of Chris Nevard's super photos. Can I thank him for letting me share the pictures. From now on it is more of my efforts with my compact Canon camera. Peter M
  9. The GMC rail truck at rest in the yard, I was told by a man who owned one they were not very pleasant to drive. Peter M
  10. The Quad arrives back in the yard having taken a group of tractor drivers out to the fields to start their days work. Peter M
  11. The little Ruston shunter backs into a siding to allow the Opel rail truck to access the engine shed. Peter M
  12. The little Davenport diesel shunter on her way out to the fields one morning. Peter M
  13. The 1930’s Opel truck with the gas producer passing the yard foreman’s hut having been working in the fields all day. Peter M
  14. The small Ruston shunter at rest in the yard. Peter M
  15. Ed, you are not the first person to suggest he is in a rather strange position which suggests he is taking a leak. I can assure he isn't but thanks for your interest. Glad you are enjoying the thread. Peter M
  16. The Opel Blitz rail truck parked outside the green house. Note the sacks of potatoes on the right of the picture. Peter M
  17. The Fordson E1A being checked over by a mechanic before setting off for the fields. Peter M
  18. A view standing on the two foot gauge track looking towards the yard as the little steam Porter tank engine arrives back from a day in the fields. Peter M
  19. The foreman is in the jeep railcar about to set out for the fields with some much needed spare part for an implement. The driver is actually a white metal figure suitably painted who adds a bit of extra weight. The yellow GMC truck has just arrived and is waiting for its next assignment. Peter M
  20. Another shot looking down on the Davenport diesel shunting wagons in the yard. The vegetables in the cold frame seem to be doing very well. Peter M
  21. A view looking down on the yard where the yellow shunter is just setting off for the fields with a weed killing train. It is early morning as the tractors are being prepared for the day out in the fields. Peter M
  22. Simplex 40 hp shunter in the yard with a small load of sacks of wheat she has just brought in. Note the farmworker taking a nap on the longer bogie wagon. Peter M
  23. This photo features the Fordson 27 N rail shunter which is very loosely based on shunters made by Muir Hill using a Fordson Standard as a basis. I assume the 27N is fitted with a Darlington overdrive gearbox. I was given the damaged model by a fellow modeller at an exhibition who suggested I used it on my scrap pile. I thought it was much too good to do that so I made a chassis for it and powered it with a Tenshodo motor. Peter M
  24. A general view of the yard with the home built wooden shunter towing a wooden side tipping wagon. That is being followed by another shunter returning from work in the fields. The wood cutter having a rest sits on a pile of logs with his puppy. Peter M
  25. A Fordson 27N rear wheel is propped against the corrugated iron coaling stage. The wheel was from a white metal kit that I was given by a fellow modeller to put on my scrap pile. The long grass is shaving brush bristles tinted with acrylic paint. Peter M
