We had loads of different conversions over the years mainly fordson and nuffield based lots had been crudely converted but none the less worked! but the best one i ever seen was a 2wd ford 5000 with county engine fitted you would think it was orignal it was so well done!
when i think about conversions the best are the tidyest ones in my eyes. i have plans for a DB conversion in the future myself i want to convert a 1412 im going to fit a DB 1694 engine into one.
regards
james,

Its a long time since ive got back at this project but i got some more done at it tonight i filled in all the holes in the bonnet and sanded them down.
now after a lot of pondering about some engine detail i decided to cut the engine out of the old 2294 chassis and im going to transplant it into the spare chassis i have so as i dont ruin the other if it does not work out!
when i finely get this conversion done and completed im going to refurb my IH 956 and then start on the 1410.
ill have picks in soon.

Truely excelent!! you beat me 2 it i was going to build a model using a corgi 1412 also! im queit excited about it and cant wait to see it finnished!!

im on about a genral mag like ford and massey ones that are out now
im sure even those have subscribe only mags not availble in the shops
ah yes nigel it would be great if they brought out a regular DB and IH magazine on account of DB and IH been related and case of course they could put all into the one magazine!
the DB clubs magazine is quiet good but there is only 4 issues a year and ive noticed some articles been repeated in the magazine to.
we will have to see if any thing develops! i may of mentioned this before but at the cooly record smash David Brown was the third most popular tractor at it! first been MF and second Ford.

Hi
emm not much has been done since except for i added steps to it and made new front axle brakets. Next job will be to fill in the gap's in the bonnet wear the screw use to be and the exaust and to drill the new hole's for the exaust and mushroom.
then i suppose its on to the cab detail fuel tanks and spraying! ill put up more picks with progress!

Yes its nice and will look even better when painted.

what month were you in tractor & machinery
it was volume 13 issue 8 july 2007 there's a pic of a ford 7810 SJ on the front.
-

Cracking James, I love the 90 / 94 series tractors. The guy who did the hedge trimming at our last place had a 2wd 1290 so we bought a 1390 standard box 4wd when we moved to the Lynch and I loved it... 'box and back end eventually gave out which was a real shame, would love another one again.... I'm not particularly up on the individual models, I remember selling a CommEd 1594 H/S when I was at Renault to a local farmer, still going now and he loves it. What were the individual powers of each and were they all 4 pot or were the 15 & 16 6 pot machines? Forgive my lack of knowledge on this particular subject!
yes they are great tractor's sure you just have to look at the great service my uncles got out of there 3 1200's one has around 40.000 hours on it the other 2 have about 30.000 each! one of the 1690's is on 28.000hr's when DB clammed they were built to last they 100% right!
there has been several other makes before including ford zetor ursus john deere deutz and none of them were as reliable as the DB's have been plus one of the best advantages DB had over the other's was there great traction they would pull any thing!
colm you are correct only one thing the 1390 was 67hp none turbo the 1394 came with a turbo and were 72hp
the 1190/94 had a 3 cylinder engine the 1290/94 1390/94 1490/94 were 4 cylinder with the 1394 1494 and 1490 were turbo charged the 1690 1690T 1594 and 1694 were all 6 cylinders.

Nice pictures there again James and nice job on the 1410 although no air vents now in the cab
you could cut out the holes in it for the vents but we didnt see much point in going to the bother of doing it. any way if you are to warm in the cab the to side windows slide open and then there's the rear to! so there's plenty of ventilation.

No notting much at the moment colm! weve got a 4cylinder implematic 880 which isint to bad she need's a bonnet and other tinwork but the block is not cracked and she run's well.
there's a white 990 with a lamborne cap which is not to bad but the block is cracked! thats about it i think he's looking 1000 euro for the 880 im not sure what he wants for the 990?
-
Yep - I think you did James - you had her split that time and had a rougher red one in as well when I PM'd you about buying a Case/DB
Nice job though mate - anymore additions since
Oh no the DB split in the shed is a 1594 with the later carrero 4wd axle she will be turned into a 1694 she is still there and the engine is almost ready to go back in! then she want's a respray! that 1594 is a very tight machine she hasent got much wear! the linkage is like new still.
hopefully she will be done in a few months. the red one i showed you is in fact a white one she will be getting the treatment to and will be sprayed back white.
-
when do you need a hand mate i'll be over on the next flight !
you got some cracking tractors , the fresh 16 looks very well done & like the DB decals i've always said the big 90's/94's always looked a no nonsense machine & still look so now , ready for anything to be thrown at them , keep the pics coming chap
Ha ha!
they certinaly were impresive looking tractors when new! this particular 1694 is a very smooth running tractor and seems to be full of life! this week she will be on mowing dutys with our kuhn so ill have to get picks of that! next up for a refurbish is either our 1980 2wd 1690 or the 4wd pictured on the mower!
hopefully the next tractor wont take 5 years on and off to complete!
-
yea james keep em comming ;)
how is your model project doing mate
also did case ever knock out the DAVID BROWN decal
or is it from the DBTC still looks the part
i think i saw one in CT 1594 but red and in the CIH style decaling
Well ive not done much at the model nigel due to exams and generaly been bisy lately but i did make new axle brakets for it so she wont be sitting as high in the front as before!
the decal is simaler to the one the DBTC supply but our own sticker maker made these for us!
just so you all know in case you have not spoted it the hydra shift stickers are spelt wrong but these are been changed today.
-
Superb James - is that one of the ones you sent me pictures of before
Great to see your silage pictures too - keep these DB/Case pictures coming
Thanks every one for the good comments! she turned out well! and she drives/operates like a new tractor now ive got more pics i may put them up!
