  1. hi all im back jesus alot has changed on the model's scene! i never did finish the model but i will now!
  2. We had loads of different conversions over the years mainly fordson and nuffield based lots had been crudely converted but none the less worked! but the best one i ever seen was a 2wd ford 5000 with county engine fitted you would think it was orignal it was so well done! when i think about conversions the best are the tidyest ones in my eyes. i have plans for a DB conversion in the future myself i want to convert a 1412 im going to fit a DB 1694 engine into one. regards james,
  3. Its a long time since ive got back at this project but i got some more done at it tonight i filled in all the holes in the bonnet and sanded them down. now after a lot of pondering about some engine detail i decided to cut the engine out of the old 2294 chassis and im going to transplant it into the spare chassis i have so as i dont ruin the other if it does not work out! when i finely get this conversion done and completed im going to refurb my IH 956 and then start on the 1410. ill have picks in soon.
  4. Truely excelent!! you beat me 2 it i was going to build a model using a corgi 1412 also! im queit excited about it and cant wait to see it finnished!! ;)
  5. ah yes nigel it would be great if they brought out a regular DB and IH magazine on account of DB and IH been related and case of course they could put all into the one magazine! the DB clubs magazine is quiet good but there is only 4 issues a year and ive noticed some articles been repeated in the magazine to. we will have to see if any thing develops! i may of mentioned this before but at the cooly record smash David Brown was the third most popular tractor at it! first been MF and second Ford.
  6. Hi emm not much has been done since except for i added steps to it and made new front axle brakets. Next job will be to fill in the gap's in the bonnet wear the screw use to be and the exaust and to drill the new hole's for the exaust and mushroom. then i suppose its on to the cab detail fuel tanks and spraying! ill put up more picks with progress!
  7. Yes its nice and will look even better when painted.
  8. it was volume 13 issue 8 july 2007 there's a pic of a ford 7810 SJ on the front.
  9. im not sure on the hours but its a project thats been on and off for the last 5 years.
  10. yes they are great tractor's sure you just have to look at the great service my uncles got out of there 3 1200's one has around 40.000 hours on it the other 2 have about 30.000 each! one of the 1690's is on 28.000hr's when DB clammed they were built to last they 100% right! there has been several other makes before including ford zetor ursus john deere deutz and none of them were as reliable as the DB's have been plus one of the best advantages DB had over the other's was there great traction they would pull any thing! colm you are correct only one thing the 1390 was 67hp none turbo the 1394 came with a turbo and were 72hp the 1190/94 had a 3 cylinder engine the 1290/94 1390/94 1490/94 were 4 cylinder with the 1394 1494 and 1490 were turbo charged the 1690 1690T 1594 and 1694 were all 6 cylinders.
  11. you could cut out the holes in it for the vents but we didnt see much point in going to the bother of doing it. any way if you are to warm in the cab the to side windows slide open and then there's the rear to! so there's plenty of ventilation.
  12. and here's a couple of pics of the DB's before a road run.
