i have took the deep and dark road to converting a model. but i am a little stuck, i am currently trying to convert a britains marston trailer, into a redrock grain trailer.i have seen the one which fred mitchel has done and it has inspired me. first problem i have is getting the axels off, i have pulled and pulled until i am blue in the face. if anyone could help me on how to get them off, also if anyone nows what paint would be the best for the plastic and the metal.

removal of the wheels is simple  remove tyres it helps

hold both rims in a tight grip and twist and pull

or put on boiling water to spften the plastic

i been trying that for about the last hour no luck, my fingers feel as if they about to fall off. :'(

Pull the tyres off. Hold one wheel in a bench vice tight  enough to stop it turning. Use large pliers, mole grips . . . etc to twist the other wheel on the axle. Once they turn on the axles they should twist off.

Now what is the next thing i needed to do, will i have to sand it down

aye lad your better sandin it down now, get a real light sand paper good luck with this project, you should change the tailgate to something more manual ya know?
