piper.28
Hi, Where do all the wholesale farm toys come from now ie, Britains, ertl, universal hobbies etc. Do they have to be brought in from abroad?

ploughmaster
Don't think so John Ayrey Diecast are one of a number of wholesalers who distribute toys to retailers in the UK, (A B Gee of Ripley are another, and of course ToyMaster do their own distribution). I'm not sure if they still are, but G&M used to be a wholesaler for Britains too. Ertl/Britains are the importer for their own products (although the handling, storage and logistics are handled by an outside company I think). Siku are imported by Alpha Toys (http://www.alpha-toys.co.uk/), and both Universal Hobbies and Norscot are imported by Accurate Diecast (http://www.accurated...ex.asp?pageID=1). Pretty much all diecast toys are made in the Far East nowadays (mainly in China), so they have to be imported. Very little of that nature is UK made anymore unfortunately.
