pk7840 Posted March 11, 2012 Share Posted March 11, 2012 Hi , my neighbours just bought a late 94 8340 ford . On the road it drives well and in the field too . However when you go to turn the tractor in a tight space a rattle comes from the front left hand hub area . Maybe its something to do with the hardispicers ? This only happens when you do it on a hard surface not in the field. I think it has nothing to do with the 4 wheel braking as the front wheels were disconnected from this system . BK741 Posted March 12, 2012 Share Posted March 12, 2012 Could well be the 'hardyspicers' that are worn. Have you checked the oil level and colour,is there any contamination in the oil (metal)? Well i have checked the oil levels and it does look okay but maybe a change of oil would help too . I Have been told that the tractor was run with a full set of front weights for a while , would this have contributed to the wearing of the hardispicers ?
