Deere-est
There is a farm at the end of Wincanton sewage works and as there was a topic about Hi-Spec tankers in 1/32 I thought I'd stop for half an hour for a chinwag with the farmer who was up and down the drive all day to his field spreading slurry with a 200 gallon Hi Spec tanker. He is his Case 5130 running a pump, all it is doing is pumping slurry from the tank, through the pump and back into the tank again to stop a crust forming. Deere-est
Here he is with the 5130 spreading across the field and a pic of his JD 6420 with Quickie loader on the pump.
Deere-est
This is the slurry pump, only requires 15hp to turn it and loads his 2000 gallon tanker in 6 minutes. At 540rpm he can load in a little under a minute providing the slurry is thick and doesn't foam too much. Similar to our Vac tanks with the foaming problems. The second pic is the tanker being top loaded via the pump and 6in pipework. Cleaner, quicker and no heavy hose's to lug around plus he can see the loading point easier than if it was on the ground. Deere-est
Here are a couple of general views of the scene while the tanker is being loaded.
Deere-est
And finally his 6420 on the pump. (just realised I have posted the same pic in two different replies above )
NewHolland2
Nice pics Deere-est...... :) There's one of those Hi-Spec tankers operated by a farm up the road from me. It used to be used to spread slurry from the piggery with a Case MX135 but doesn't do too much now the piggery has closed down...... Is the Shelbourne Reynolds attachment on the loader for breaking into a silage clamp?
Deere-est
Yeah you got it mate, shear grab. For got to look to see if it had a blade or tines though, pretty sure it was tines.

Cheers mate...... ;) Don't have too much experience with silage (apart from the farm which I now work on occasionally) so wasn't 100% sure...... :)
Powerstarâ„¢
We have a Redrock Alligator Mart, same principle as that shear grab, ours is tines. Will post a picture of it when i'm next doing that job. It's normally getting dark though so it will have to be a darker shot.
