Tyre size calculator

I used to use the tyre calculator on www.agriscale.nl which was fantastic.

You could put in the real machines tyre size and it would tell you the 1/32 sizes. (i.e type in 710/70 R42 ---> get out 1/32 size in mm, then you can find the nearest model tyres)

I see the agriscale site has been updated and the calculator is no longer there

Does anybody know of another online calculator?

Or.....how do you calculate it from the sizes given?

710 I assume is the height in mm

70 the width

What is R42?

I don't know much about tyres other than most are black!!

Im pretty sure 710 is the width and i think 70 is the height. Not sure on the R42 but im sure someone will know.

P.s to the someone who knows please correct me if wrong

r42 is the diamater, ie 42 inch rim,weird the first 2 dimensions are mm the last one inches,but im pretty sure thats right,and your post is correct tommy

710 is the width in mm

70 s the aspect ratio in mm ??

R42 is the rim diameter in inches

a picture of a 205/70R14!!

i'm not sure if the height is worked out by adding the bottom 70% of width, the 14" and also another 70% for the top side of the wheel?!?!

the picture says it all baz the 70 % is 70 % of the width, ie 70% of, in this case 205mm,which is 143 mm

Managed to get an Excel spreadsheet to calculate it all for me.

Put in the 3 sizes, out comes the width, height an rim size in 1/32, brilliant.

I have no idea how to get it onto a website/forum!!!!

Glad it's back, Barry, it's a very useful resource and a lot of work must've gone into it.
