powerrabbit Posted January 12, 2014 Share Posted January 12, 2014 A week before Christmas I visited the DVLA website to SORN a tractor, typing in the 'identifier' number as on the reminder form that came in the post, the returning result was 'number not recognised' so that was the end of that. So I then rang the telephone number and at the automated other end, I pressed '2' as directed by the robot and when prompted, dialled in the identifier number, voice then came back and said that the number is not recognised so I gave up! After Christmas I put an X in the SORN box and took it to the Post Office, job done. Yesterday I received the acknowledgement letter from the DVLA that I had submitted it and that the SORN date starts on 1/1/50 so that means I have to wait another 36 years before it kicks in!
