Well it looks very nice and it claims to cut 100 tonnes of wheat an hour...………………...but is that an average including field moves etc?   New Holland CR10-90 working locally with the new computerised system on board was averaging 80 tonnes hour in wheat !!  And ive heard of the new Claas 8900 hitting above 120 tph spot rates...………………..so whoever comes out on top it wont be by much over the competition.

What I do know is that we have three huge john deere farms  out here in the fens around the Norfolk, Suffolk, cambs borders and each of them run 4  S790/690 spec machines.  Two estates split their machines into pairs and the Mormons farm near Ely run all 4 in the same field and they use 40ft headers on them. They were the first in the country to get a new shape S690 back in 2011 so I will be checking them out to see if they've got a pre production X9 sat in the yard.
