  1. Well, we opened sales for pumpkins this past weekend. Temps were a little warm which I think kept a lot of people from thinking about fall/Halloween/pumpkins but Sunday was pretty busy. I have some pictures of the ones we pulled from the patch last weekend with my daughter "helping". I hope you like them.

  2. Arrrgh! What annoyed me today (and a few times over the past month) was to visit this site, click on the link that says "Show unread posts since your last visit"; read the first page of posts then click on the second (3rd, 4th, whichever) page and end up with a blank page. It's depressing to know there are pages and pages of posts since my last visit with no real easy way to access them... :'(

  3. That's like ....what 10 hours/day 7 days a week for 3 months? A lot of time? I don't know, I don't farm full time so it's hard for me to say. On the weekends I work 10 - 12 hours/day easily but some of that is hand work and/or not on one tractor. To me it seems like a lot...

  4. Well, I?ve visited her for a while and I?ve been a member for a few days and I am really impressed with some of the farm layouts I see here. It makes me want to start on mine which brings me to my questions:

How do I begin? I have a couple ideas in mind but I am at a loss of how to actually start. What is the preferred base material? Plywood, MDF? How thick? What grade of wood is used?

I see that a lot of the layouts here are pretty flat. My ideas have a lot of influence by what I see here in New England which is anything but flat! How do you go about creating multiple layered settings?

What is used for ground covering and where can it be obtained? Is there a good reference somewhere (a book or video perhaps) that would illustrate the various steps in creating a farm display?

Sorry for so many questions, but in reality I probably have hundreds more so I?ll stop now and ask more based on the responses I get.

Thanks a lot for your assistance!

    Rich
