  1. if i remember rightly the 936 was burning 47lph

Cheers Marcus think I might help use that to persuade the boss to start going fendt :D :D But seriously thats good on fuel :)

But on note at college they have just traded there old 617 Claas (which was last renault in theory) for new arion of similar size and difference is amazing you can tell Claas have designed and built this pulls well and very well built

  2. Nice looking machine Gavvers... it sounds like you are smitten as well  :-*

Is that 24 litres of fuel per hour then mate ??? - I know it's a big machine... but isn't that a bit on the high side ??? (I really don't have a clue.. but it sounds a lot... My little 54 burns 8ltrs per hour on average)

Also... is that gearbox not made at Beauvais then ??? - I guess it's too big for the GIMA line ???

That is really good going Marky have used deere 7530 similar hp but on heavy work can average 35l/hr And then as another comparison a Case MX 285 with only another 90hp more then axion will sip through 60l/hr :'(

  3. lovely stuff bas but not fortunate enough to have a drive myself , like i'd know where to start anyway, the vario bit looks easy enough , after all if pingu can drive one it cant be that hard  :D :D  it's the rest of it that would confuse me , but then thats not hard to do  :D :D :D :D

Now be nice  :D but in saying that I'm sure you'll pick it all up in no time if I can manage to do it but having flippers makes pressing the buttons harder mind ;):D

But very true down grading a bit but then everything is a downgrade from a Fendt just seeing this great pics makes me realise how bad a downgrade :D :D :D

  4. Great pictures mate and I'll admit I'm jealous about straight line :D :D but what transmission the axion have the c-matic or normal hexashift? Think I'd def have one over the deere too :D

  5. TVT190 uses more diesel than a magnum 7220 doing the same work here,is it not fair to say that the comfort of not having to change gear is soaked up with higher fuel useage due to the extra power needed to run the transmisson when used for heavy cultivations?

Im just going by my experiences Ol as my old 818 would drink 30-32L/hr working hard on 5m press and a Case MX 170 (180hp on shaft never tweaked) would on average 35+ltr.  And tryed our Fendt 926 against neighbours Case MX 270 and there was 12+l/hr more against the Case :'(

Be interesting to see how my CVT 7530 will rate against the AQ 7530 a neighbour runs on similar sprayer and trailer combo's etc.

  6. Well having spent a fair bit time in last few years on vario's and powershifts, i would have to go for CVT every time.  Having done same jobs on same fields with both boxes can safely say the CVT will be far more econmomical with being able to pick whatever speed you desire at the ideal engine revs especially for max torque then on the road they will often hit 50k at only 1500rpm.  And then from my drivers vew point alot easier and alot more smoother having infinate gears and being alot more user friendly

  7. oooh seems an age since you were called MF fan mate, no masseys for a while eh ? all fendt , case & JD ,large ones at that !

hope you're going to happy in the new job phill, & keep the pics coming chap  :)

    Cheers  :)

Yer sadly no massey's in a while still have soft spot for them :-[:D But will keep you all informed with pictures as go full time in June so be plenty pics come end harvest and probs alot more of the sprayer with that being my primary role can see me getting used to it :D

  8. Cheers chaps :)

Erm its around 2500 acres are combined so similar acres but are looking to expand having had fair few local farms come up for contract recently so have applied, that is main reason for having the big cat and 600 so they have extra capacity to expand comfortably.  :)

  9. Then just one showing the other tractor with magnum the Claas 697 with N sensor, GPS and Fert spreader behind which has adapted hydraulic measuring unit to work with the N sensor

  10. Bit more spraying was on rape all weekwith fungicide mostly a mix of proline and amistar, getting used to the deere but having a gearbox that you cant use for engine braking at road speeds will take some getting used to after running the fendt.

What rape leaves on the paint work  :'( :D

The Case MX 285 one the nicest tractors I have ever driven so smooth and one the nicest engine notes known to man :D

  11. Well this week I spent the week at what will be my new job starting to learn the ropes with fair bit the week spent on JD 7530 and 4000litre berthoud sprayer as that will be my main job so learning how to use sprayer etc :)  But is very nicely run farm also running Claas ares 697 which is fitted with GPS and N senser for altering amount N applied and GPS for shutting boom sections off in right place.  With similar GPS going to be fitted to what will be my deere for steering and boom control. Main other tractors are Case MX 285 and Cat Challenger MT865 and a Claas lexion 600 with most kit bought ex demo or second hand so dont get big depreciation hit but the 7530 is brand new 09 plate :-*

  12. Boss has probably got to go to Lincs tomorrow and pick it up, astonishingly considering the time of year Grimme's UK base isn't open over this weekend so we have to pay a callout charge to be able to collect it, they closed last night and re-open Tues morning >:(::)

Now that is bad really concidering how many potato crews that are still going the bank holiday isn't going to stop them but they still stop  :'( :'(  You gonna carry onwith bedforming then this weekend?

  13. Well got confirmed that I'm spending next week working at new job to start learning the ropes before I go full time in June.  But looks like will be start to be trained up on sprayer and hopefully start getting used to what will be my tractor a Deere 7530 as that's main spraying tractor, but will also have good nose round there other kit and have play in it all from big Challenger to Lexion 600 with a mixed fleet of Case, Claas and now the one Deere oh and the challenger.  Excited to say least :D;D ;D ;D
