  1. had a full day checking & redoing antifreeze yesterday,did shogun , landrover ,mf6475,mf6130,590,3x35's135.65,ford 5030.2xfordson e1a majors & the Manitou,luckily the e27n & the f haven't got radiators .in at the moment. still a full days work though but worth it as it froze pretty hard last night
  2. been putting a new rear axle seal in our 4cylinder mf 35 & started on a water pump problem on my mates petrol/tvo major , nothing too serious but suffering from a lack of motivation!
  3. is it metal or plastic ? , i have a plastic nuffield about that size in a box ,i think it was made by lipkin
  4. off to a flying start early this morning, called in at yard for some stuff on my way past to find the barrier locked & had to wait half an hour to get in ,= early start wasted!!!!!!
  5. there was a series in tractor & machinery a few years back on allis b restoration ,the bloke was a doctor but i can't remember his name.I think they turned it into a booklet that was available for sale
  6. sorting out the number pegs for the tractor section at the Cumbria Steam Gathering which is only 2 weeks away , 227 tractors entered , just hope the weather is with us
  7. been shuffling tractors , swapping batteries & generally sorting stuff out. have been on 7 different tractors & a telehandler.then i started to strip the back axle trumpet off the 4cyl 35 to put a new seal in
  8. they go for about £10 upwards depending on rarity. ive seen someon ebay over £40
  9. me & the boys had a great day out , as somebody wrote earlier "it was worth coming just for the butties" , looking forward to a follow up Steve , Shane & Liam
  10. just back from penrith, looking very promising for a really good show tomorrow
  11. just about to load up , i'll be there early afternoon it's only half an hour from my house

  14. been on a tractor run today , about 30 miles , nice weather when we set off, it turned cooler then rained steadily all afternoon
  15. just relaxing today after a couple of late nights silaging & yesterday rolling & sheeting the pit ,washing & greasing machines ready for next time.Then going to the pub about 4ish
  16. day off work tomorrow , going to help set up for the Vintage Metals annual show near kirkby lonsdale in cumbria , only problem is we've got a load of gypsies camped near the entrance but i think it will be ok.theres loads of tractors , cars ,trucks ,stationary engines etc plus lots more so if your anywhere near call in . A65 1 mile east of Kirkby Lonsdale opposite the Whoop Hall pub
  17. i know times have changed(for the worse probably?) but i used to cart silage on the road &buckrake at 13/14 up in the hills when i was a boy(late 70's) we carted with a massey 178 & a leyland 270 & buckraked with a massey 65.the chopping tractor was another 178 with a jf 80 side mounted forager then we progressed to a 590 with the side window taken out so my mates dad could still work the manual controls
  18. the diesel ferguson that started first turn on thursday night when we bought it refused to start today & was very hard to get into gear even though the bloke we bought it off drove it onto the trailer with no apparent problem . must be a good actor or something.note to self "stay off ebay when you come home from the pub"
  19. been getting some tractors ready for a show at penrith tomorrow , all washed , checked & loaded. We're taking shane's 3 cylinder 35 with a grey mf 732 cutterbar mower & my mates taking a power major with ransomes ts59 plough.Then we took the banana loader off a diesel fergy , washed the tractor & forklifted it into the workshop
  20. been fencing again & turning stock out , hoping to have a day digging the vintage gear out tomorrow , got a show next sunday !!
  21. on holiday this week so i've been helping my mate out at the farm where i keep my tractors.mainly fencing & tidying up
