Does anyone on here handy with a milling machine, I need to re-create two lift arms out of ally from the 1:16 JD tractor i have. Nearly finished on the rest of the r/c tractor but am yet to get the hitch finished without spending a good grand on machines to do it. Any help is greatfully recieved

Loving the head on that malc, could do with one of those for my r/c lexion, know my servos will lift it easily enough

never had the ertl r/c but have had dealings with the siku ones, think the siku one's are great for all ages, bit limited to applications but in general there not bad. not heard too many great points on the ertl versions but its all personal choice.

thanks peeps, sourcing square isnt a problem, im told the size is though. 10mm isnt too standered or sought after so not many places hold it in stock. but i'll message some more places an see what I can find.

still struggleing to find this brass... smiths can supply 3ft for 25 quid but seeing as i only need 6 inchs seems a lot for waste.... ah well...keep trying...

Hey folks, Just started working with brass, and am struggleing to find suppliers of 10mm and up solid square section. I use this and machine it down to what I need but cant find it anywhere local. Model shops hold most other types of section but solid isnt somthing they can get hold of for some reason (?) Where would you suggest I try. only needing lengths of 300mm idealy Dan

Brought my Dremal about two years ago and never regretted it since. parts are a little exspensive but worth the cost.definatly wouldnt be without mine.

yeah totally agree, everything seems to be cerial based, from combines to seed drills, if you can remember the site for that chap or if anyone else knows of it id appreciate it.

I'd love to get arund to building some replica machines of ones I used to work with. All 3 row machines on fendts, widend out bit time. after this post I think i'll start giving it some serious thought, shame that the market don't account much for potato equipment or much other equipment.

Hi all, My latest projects coming alond nicely thanks to hints and tips from Kolpen. But I find myself stuck on some rear wheel weight discs. The front end of my 1/16 model is fine for weight but the back is coming up too light. Does anyone here have the tools to make some metal discs of a custom diameter or should I try looki g in the Yellow pages for machinests? thanks all Dan

Where abouts can you get them for half that? All the ones i've seen advertised have been the best part of £100.00 an that goes for all the siku sets regarding the infared.

You know it, funny that if you look on uk ebay theres very little of the siku control range, but look at the german site an theres stacks of it, plus spares, mods,an add ons. My lexion is pretty much finished, but am sorting out the unloading auger speed as standered servos swing way to fast.

All of there range do have working hitchs as standered. there is talk about Siku bringing out a plow in the new year that will be reversable, but again costs are the issue, The lack of implements have forced most of the fans, (which seem to be from europe) into customising there own. Look on youtube for an idea of what they can make, i've seen some great examples along with modified tractors with extra lights, working front hitchs duel wheels etc, implements I've found in the region of a plough although it went the wrong way when it turned, mowers, and seed drills. In regards to the combine question id say it definatly comes down to cost. Myself and a few others like Malc have converted our lexions into r/c and both will agree it isnt a cheap thing to do, not if you want realism. digital servos aren't cheap but although they do allow fine tuning on speed etc.

I totally agree, Siku models have great playing potenial and for the model farmer there great and they do last, couldnt agree more, My last purchase from britains was the 9880i an was sorley dissapointed in the model as a whole, even if i was many years younger id still be dissapointed. Tractor wise, siku lead the playing market by far, my nephew has alot of toys and there mostly siku, id like to see Siku have more of a piece of the JD franchise rather than britains. Still not purchased any weise models yet having not seen any in the flesh to have the chance too. but I have got my eye on a few things for the new year.

Im not getting too excited about the new releases. I've heard a rumor that Siku will be reducing there 1/32 scale items and replacing them with 1/50 to reduce costs although im sure we wont see that when it comes to buying them, shame tho as I do like siku models but there recent realeses are far to exspensive for the average childs toy, I've always had a thing for combines but there recent John Deere addition seems not to be selling as well as I think they'd hoped. No one near me or who i've rang carry them in stock due to high costs and little demand. One shop still has a Lexion 600 that he brought 2 years ago,but at 65 quid im not surprised its still there.

I had the 6920 and agree that there fun for a short while, lack of remote implements to go with them put me off, I stipped mine down for parts to build my Lexion 600. After a new one now tho, while i had mine I customised it a bit more, like adding the front weights of the 6920s model siku brought out and painting up the engine bay and rear hitch. looked alot better when finished, great fun if you look more into them than an exspensive toy. they are what you make of them, shame siku cant keep up with new implements for them tho, especially at reasonable prices. After spending eternitys in r/c shops I know the servos they use arent very exspensive, and considering they only make slight adjustments to standtered models to convert them im surprised they charge what they do for extras.

Ive never really thought about getting one of these but after seeing these pictures im very very tempted. nice models an nice touches.

Hey all, hope your all well, I've recently had to upgrade my laptop and me being stupid didnt save the links to some of the more specialist sites in europe. Im trying to locate somone who can make the weights for 1/32 fendts. (like the ones dealers sell as extras) Any help would really get my 936 moving again. dan

I'd definatly go for it, always worth the try at least. It always surprises me though why Simba stuff has never really been made in models befor apart from the solo. Its been around a long time but yet nothing to show for the collector.... any one agree?
