  1. very impressed, looks excellent, I might even have a go at building one myself, but with a twist, powered front drive. well done though,
  2. Im enclined to agree with the last comment, Britians has gone down hill seriously with there models, I brought the STS model last year to convert to r/c and found it more hassle than what it was worth, all very plastic looking/feeling and the realism wasnt there for me. for one the head conection was rubbish and it showed when removed several times. Siku are fast becoming the major farm toy manufacturer in the world let alone europe, There models last longer and can be made up to a more realistic look and still have the ability to be playable, and to be converted or modified. The price will always be an issue with siku toys since the introduction of the dreaded euro and with not much sign of it changing in the near future it would be a shame to see such nice toys and models only available for the die hard collector or converter and not for the average child.
  3. Hey everyone,. a little update, I recieved the catalogue from Dakotah toys on friday, nice to see it arrivd but would have been nice to know it was on its way at least.
  4. hey guys, I have recently (last week or so) messaged Dakotah toys regarding a catalogue but to this day still havent had a reply,I am also on TTT and am chatting to a guy who is being very helpfull as he has a catalogue and searchs for parts for me. still a little disappointed that I havent had a mail from Dakotah.
  5. thanks for the ideas so far, im still thinking discs or press if i can get the rings cast in a big enough batch. also thinking of some type of mower, with working blades. I can test it out in the communal garden then ha ha!
  6. Hey everyone, Thought Id ask for peoples opinions on a 1:16 Implement to run behind my R/C 7930. Anders has done the plow, so Im looking for different Ideas to what to put behind it. It will be build from brass and Heat formed Plastic (if needed). I've been thinking or a set of discs or a Press roll, maybe something similer to the Simba DD 8M set. What does the forum think would be good? Dan
  7. definatly looking good. Im eagerto see the culti press when complete with rings and rams. keep up the great work...
  8. Your work is amazing, real top end skill, do you build all your parts from scratch or do you buy some and build the rest. looking forward to more of your highly skilled work. Dan
  9. You never cease to amaze me, (or anyone else in here) Perfect skill, perfect results, I dont think i'll really get the chance to make this kind of stuff till my litlen grows up an i move her out ha ha! keep up the good work tho. im sure you've got more in your mind, Have you ever had ago at getting your RC Lexion's reel to continusly drive while the head is either up or down?
  10. Brilliant model, liking this alot, done a real nice job. Where did you get hold of the trailed press? I've always thought of getting or making one.
  11. Got my name down already....maybe two, one for conversion an one for show.
  12. Some good chat in this topic, So thought id add a little to the topic, Im from the local Large scale farming co-op which currently has around 70 thousand acres accross the uk. They Have a partnership with Claas to supply all combines which at last count were in the region of 55 Lexions all no older than 3 years ranging from 480's to 580+. Scotlands combines are usually running Terra tracs and they are now upgrading to 36ft headers when the renewals come up. Because of the quantity's of combines and tractors that Class supply, they were asked to run one of the prototypes for the 600 a few years back. Reports from the first year was that nothing else could touch it for output and left competitors machines standing. In the following seasons Claass in all there wisdom changed the Chopper/thresher and parts of the software and by the time they launched the 600 its capabilitys were reduced from the first proto type. In regards to service Class have I'd say one of the biggest chunks of the markets for harvesters and if there ever was a problem with any of the machines it was sorted within hours with very little after effects. If Class are looking into building a larger version of the lexion then im sure that with there development they'll go far. weather theres a market for such a large combine over here is a different thing. Co-op now run 580+ lexions as there isnt much of an after market for the 600.
  13. Another great conversion by Mr Claas himself. is the Header on the TT slightly different to the siku version aswell?
  14. Hi all, i've been asked to modify a 1/16 JD for the local dealer and have it as real looking as they can. There supplying the model and im to add as much detail as possible. the biggest problem is that apart from the dealer edition (and again only some of them) has the 3 point hitch on. Does anyone know if theres any company that makes the kits in 1/16 as I have breif memories of a german company doing 1/32. any help really appreciated.
  15. hey, welcome to the site, enjoy!!!!
  16. liking this mod very much, simple yet very effective. well done :) :)
  17. Just found this, looking pretty good for a 1/16. Thinking this is ripe for an Rc conversion if I can get hold of one. what do people think to this model? http://www.bruder.de/fileadmin/inc/pdf/A4Anleit02132.pdf
  18. To be honest i've not attempted it yet. been working on other projects and ideas. im to belive you have to use like ultra thin wire, and not sure if its insulated being so thin. I remember malc telling me the joys of burnt fingers while he done his, id prefer to use SMDs as they are alot neater. but am looking at 2.5mm Ultra bright LEDs with a filed down flat face. will inform you how i get on. oh on another SMD note there are more benefits to using them on other models that require them that small. Take a look at this german site. have to use a translater site but still worth a look www.modell-trecker-tuning.de
  19. Well i've enquired into motors and you can actually get motors as small as the thickness of say, biro ink cartridges. r/c shops sell them and there not that exspensive. SMDs are a good choice in lighting but im sure malc will agree that there very fiddley but well worth burnt fingers ha ha!.
  20. At the moment no ones sure with the go slow units.I've tried two of them but they dont like working for some reason. somone suggested that because the r/c unit is working at 2.4ghz the unit doesnt reconise the signal.also tried reducing the voltage with a resistor but that didnt work either. i mite look into building a control board when i get time. Liking the class on ebay, although not sure itd cost that to make. is it r/c or just lighted? really shoould learn german seeing as its mostly them who do some great r/c models.
  21. Hey Malc, Cheers for that diagram. should help me out alot. Ive got 4 RC shops trying to figur out how to slow down the auger so if i have any luck i'll post up. totally agree with the concept of no room. it is tight in there once you've added all ther servos for drive/control/lift etc. i was lucky that i had used a motor and gear box from the siku rc john deere, which saved me a fair bit of space. but its all trial and error. there are no right ways or wrong ways to do things when building custom rc models. once i can get hold of the tracked rc deere from siku then that will be modded to a 9530 chassis with improved hitch and custom solo app. should look good when i can get it done.
  22. hey, all Malcs lexion rocks, been building mine for a while, got tthe forward/reverse left and right, header up an down. got lights do do when i can figure our the rc side of the switch and having trouble with the unloading auger speed. apart from that is definatly looking the part. have a go, its rather easy when you think about it.
  23. This seems a touchy topic, with everyone having strong opinions. I have had the pleasure of the siku JD an I'm 23 and think although its a great model, as i believe siku put time and effort into thinking what is expected for kids play, the JD could have been more detailed with more working lights, and a better turning circle. Having once had many Britain's toys as a kid I've noticed the quality has dropped alot over the years and now try to refrain from buying them. for those who want realism in RC then the only option is to take time and build one from an existing model, like malcp, myself and a few others have done with the Lexion600, not cheap by anymeans but if your wanting realism with detail in a RC model then the Sky's the limit, but on a production cost side of things isn't going to be cheap. I reckon I could make an RC lexion to sell for 200 pounds but not with working lights, but have those as an optional extra on ordering. Still a good model from Britain's but Id agree with the 6-12 age range, but defiantly a model that can be improved by conversion modelers on here
  24. Hey people, As im new to this conversion hobby I am finding it hard to source parts, ie 3 point hitches, terra tracs and terra tires etc. If anybody knows of any online places to purchase these bits and other spare parts please feel free to post up including *website address *what they stock or can supply *country of origine *If used by yourself or a friend and would you recomend the site. Hope this will help me any other new people to the hobby struggleing to find bits. p.s does anyone know where i can get gearbox's for siku controle? i found a site once that did alot of them but cant find it again. merry xmas and a happy new year to all. Dan
  25. The deere combine sounds interesting, mite look into modding it to r/c when they release it...
