  1. I bought two, one from Jadlam and the other from Kings baby shop both had their seals broken and had been opened.

I returned the one of them and have order one from Udimore, hopefully he will be kind and send me a gold one.😉

There should be a “name and shame” list if any of the manufactures decide to do something of that nature in the future, so potential customers can purchase from honest reputable dealers.

  2. It is off a wooden plinth and I think it is worth more than £80 as I have seen two make £85 about 8 years ago with damage and without a wooden plinth.

It was a jubilee model given away with the real tractor. It has the reg. no. engraved on th rear number plate.

    Thanks for the help.

Like most things it is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.

  3. Cannot answer your question directly, Fred, but I know someone who does resin castings and several members of this forum use his services.  He does not charge a fortune.  PM me and I can give you his contact details.

Thanks but I would like to do it myself largely because they are small parts/one off and I have cast white metal in the past and a skill I would like to achieve.

  4. Thinking of selling this (see attachment) and wondered what it would be worth as it is quite rare. I have seen two four wheel drive version sell for £85 at auctions and that was well over five years ago. Both appeared to be in similar condition and missing their original plinths.

It needs a bit of restoration work.

I do collect Ford / New Holland but have a preference for Massey Ferguson. I have actually spent more time, sat on, around and underneath blue tractors that the ripe ones. Also from my own experience I prefer a 7610 to a 7810 a feel the 7610 is much under rated.

  5. Probably bag them up and sell them for horsefeed? We always use them as bait for the rabbit cages.

You always get a bit of waste, no matter what you try. Bruising should be kept to a minimum of course but I think we still get 1 or 2p for those. Small potatoes (15-35mm) are peeled and sold in packages, 35-50 is sold for consumption in bags, 50-60 for fries and 60+ sometimes sold per one or two in a package to be grilled or the like. I think with the trade as it is a lot more farmers will market their own produce in years to come if they want to earn a living.

Can everyone do that without supplying the supermarkets?

As for food wastage the general public needs to be either re-educated or made aware of the situation as food  supply in the future is going to become a major problem (from an increased population and pessures imposed on land).

I feel it is a great shame that we are loosing so many smaller farmers and it is getting harder for people that would like to join the industry. The buying power of supermarkets do not help this situation?

I think there should be a cap on a producers physical size to help reverse the trend.

  6. no db made many comemerative edition tractors nearly all of which were 1988 models

there was c competion on to win a aston martin db 5 i think

there was a 1694 ce cosin at random by db and woever bought this tractor won the car have the original brosure for this was also a write up in clasic tractor about this and the people that bought the tractor and won the car.

but to answer your question there definatly was more than one 1694 ce  ;)

Apparantly by what I have recently read there were many more 1594 commemorative

tractors than any other model in the range. My uncle bought his(1694)  as he had always had DB's and the fact that it was one of the last, also to win the Aston Martin car.

  7. we have spread all the poultry muck but i dont think i have talked about any fastracs, the contractor has one but never seen it

They used to have atleast four of them about 15- 20 years ago.

So who is the largest spud grower in Telford area?

    (Maddocks/Bubbs/Udales/Solarri(?)/Heaths)

  8. David Brown Commemorative limited Edition tractors

I have been reading that David Brown only produced one 1694 commemorative tractor which is somewhere in deepest darkest Leominster, Herefordshire.

Well I’m sure the commemorative DB that my Uncle bought from new was a 1694 4 wheel drive. So to me that makes two.

I drove it when it was still shiny and smelling of “factory eau de parfum†about 1988(?)
