There are also rules about whether you can be self employed or not.For example there's only a certain percentage of time worked can be charged to one person,whether or not you supply own tools or machinery or whether there are set working hours.If your boss can tell you when to work,not ask if you're available then as I understand it you can't be self employed for him,only a part time worker.

I understand the Revenue are tightening up on this - if you drive Mr 'X's tractor for 3 months you are not self employed and using your 'tools' under their definition.

Would agree with all the comments above, if you are already self employed (with an income), fine, go do some work for Mr 'X' but don't become self employed just to suit one 'customer'.

You could shape it from a solid block then drill out lightening holes which can be covered with thin plasticard or in this case basically make the central section roughly rectangular and build up the curved sides with layers of card and then sand/file to final shape.

As an individual there's probably not a lot of benefit for the cost, but most assurance schemes now consider non nroso operators to be a non compliance, so pretty much essential from a prospective employers point of view.

I have another question John, in the picture at the top of this thread,the tailgate opening mechanism is attached to the front of the body,secured closed I presume but you have recreated your mode l with them attached to outriggers on the chassis,auto open close,??

As Sean says they are 3 stage, but they do look very good. Presume you just cut them to the length required.

Did a bit more today. Had to order some brass for rams as I don't have correct size and wheels are difficult to get right - I can get close but not exact.

Put together roughly to see if it all fits!

TT bought me work trousers from Aldi for about £8 - they are tough as old boots, good zips and studs, plenty pockets and knee pads. Surviving being washed every night too.
